Is this person bullshi**ting?
It's possible - people digest information differently.
I mean there are people who have been here far longer than I and have never beaten shaper let alone uber elder. I myself could have probably done exactly that if I didn't get bogged down identifying rares and running chaos recipe excessively in my first league as well. I'm not saying they're telling the truth (it's the internet) but I am saying its not so unrealistic it must be a lie. Yep, totally over league play.

At the end of last league I watched a streamer who had never played POE, and was gifted gear for a Necro/Cyclone build. Within 4-5 days he beat Sirus (or however you spell it), of course he's not playing anymore now that he's seen all the game has to offer. This, I think, is a classic example of why GGG doesn't want broken builds in the game.
Arguing on the Internet: What's the point when you can't punch them in the face when they really piss you off?

I mean there's like 5000 really stupidly good in-depth guides now, which there weren't even a few years ago. I got a friend into PoE and he hit level 90 and 24 challenges in his first 2 weeks of playing and had never played an APRG before

9/10 new players couldn't do that in their first 3 weeks. But maybe some out there are good enough to learn everything that fast and spend a lot of time researching online.

In abyss league I completed 36 challenges with a new build and hit 96 in hardcore. Farmed shaper guardians too... So yes, its entirely possible. If people can hit 100 in less than 5 days, then people can research the simplified atlas and progression that we have today in a reasonable time frame. Three weeks of social distancing and social isolation is a lot of free time. Even with a full time job you can accomplish a lot in this time frame.

Most likely a lie/exaggeration, but definitely possible. A lot depends on play style and how much help the person is getting. If someone just mindlessly follows a good build guide that is currently OP they can probably shoot right through really fast without understanding a lot of what is going on.

" Or he/she has no life and knows how to implement what he/she googled. [Removed by Support] the gear follow meta build, LOL poe is hard. Last edited by Kane_GGG#0000 on Apr 13, 2020, 10:59:51 PM

" not really. Copy a meta build, tada, done. If you dont have to worry about figuring out gear/passive tree the actual gameplay in PoE is pretty simple. You learn everything you need to about gameplay just playing through the story which takes about a week at a relatively slow "reading the story" pace. Once you reach maps 70-80 takes a day, 80-85 another, 85-88 then 88-90. That's another week or so, dying plentifully in softcore i might add. I often die once per map on the way to 90 since, dont need to worry about gear since loldeath until the exp penalty starts to kick in. " Pretty confident if i went and picked up Wolcen or Grim dawn etc, i could easily hit their equivalent of progression in 3 weeks. So could anyone who's experienced with ARPG's in general. Too much currency and gear with so many stacked mechanics makes gearing even more of a non-issue. Follow a sound guide or even just improv off a non-gibbed passive skeleton and you'll be doing t14+s fast without even spending over 30c.
