POE is complex in building your own builds, some of the high end content, and some interactions/wording, rest is simple ARPG mechanics, get defenses and damage.

very doable to be doing T16's within 3 weeks, find a build guide, give 2-3 days to get to maps, a few days to gear get a few items, watching a video on pricing items, get some currency, buy some decent gear and push to T16.

I usually hit T16's by 2nd week of a league on a work week.

i think any ordinary person with 120IQ or more can learn that much in 3 weeks, people always exaggerate when they're talking about POE mechanic, it's not that hard to learn and the fact that it's a game that means people willing to learn about it more than they do in school.

yeah, plus all information is easily available. you can literally just copy a build. a lot of people playing this game dont know much about interactions and theory behind the build theyre playing, and I dont think they care enough to know. they just want to play something powerful and click and loot.

Wait was PoE even hard? Must have been before I started playing...

We should also consider the possibility that this player is putting in 60 hrs a week due to social distancing. A person with nothing else to do could easily put in 150-200 hrs in 3 weeks. I was definitely able to do T16 maps by the time I had that many hrs in the game (that is of course in SC trade league).

1st week.
read stuff about the game, download the game, play 20h\day like OP.
grow a beard. really good beard. some people can grow a good beard in one week.
read builds section, find "instagib" build.
find some cool stuff sell it for 3-5ex, buy some cool stuff to instagib more.
find chaos orb vendor recipe on wiki, spent all the day to collect 100500 chaos orbs.
you're already 90lvl mapping in this new stupid atlas system trying to figure out how to obtain new maps...instagibbin

2nd week.
you're already beefied with cool stuff and instagibbing everything
it's getting old
you go to facebook and find some random "poe group" lawl
you read stupid things, instagibbin' everything with 1-click.

3rd week.
you tell people on facebook that you newbie and play 3 weeks and instagibbin everything, but don't have friends...

Yes it's possible if you're familiar with the genre. Had two new guildies last league that went on to do 40/40 in their first league.

Rolled a T16 ele reflect map with zana guardian mission inside. Switched to lvl 88 Necro Animate Weapon to clear. Got deleted at boss put hp poison potions on and completed it. lvl 88 easily achievable in 3 weeks and that build was copy/pasted.

There is so much power bombardment (not even creep) this league most things have lost any real sense of meaning/achievement.

I started on xbox last season a month in. In 4 weeks I had 70 exalts 6x lvl 80+ characters and a level 90 Jug who was doing T15-16 maps but was a struggle.

Switched to PC this season.I have about 30 exalts and still learning a allot. Using this season as another learning season.

But its possible. What I did on console would be 10xs easier on PC. I have like 15 days playtime and not one drop over 60c and only 4 exalts dropped. Where my first season I had like 40x exalts drop from metamorphs alone and found a handful of items worth a ex or more.
