Is this person bullshi**ting?
" This is a very broad remark, you're outrage about learning game mechanics is unfounded. People have learned much more complex game mechanics and systems in a relatively short period of time. The new atlas system for example is much simpler than the old sextant blocking setup we had, even that wasn't hard to learn or explain. Some things to keep in mind when exploring/learning about the atlas: The atlas when it comes to loot and experience gains value as you increase in tiers. When rolling maps with currency and mods, pack size is the best stat to increase due to how it scales the number of drops and experience gained. Investing currency into maps for rewards is a risk:reward system, expecting returns every time is an unreasonable assumption. Doing a single map type and ignoring all others is a bad idea, this prevents you from increasing your atlas bonus', at least initially, this makes it harder to get returns from invested currency. |

No, its not outrage. Its a fact. Literally no one had any idea how the fuck spawning conquerors worked when new atlas came out. There were as much theories as many people and most of them were wrong. Only after like ~2 weeks community could say "yes, thats how it works" instead of "yes, it probably works like this".
In this league GGG made it way simplet with clues/explanations everywhere, but I still wont believe some rando guy who never played PoE managed to fully unlock his atlas in less than 3 weeks. Hell, for new people getting to maps takes a week on avarage. |

" I had no problems understanding how atlas works. So who are the people you talking about? Are they part of a group "we can't do anything without a guide" so they had to wait whole one week to play? " I only remember people talking about how to FIX bugged spawn and not how to spawn conqueror. Oh boi how delusional you are. Yeah, for sure you went to your first map in new atlas and already knew everything. Mr. Omniscient!

" Pretty sure exploring the atlas to spawn the conquerors was encouraged when they were released. I don't recall being confused, in fact I believe I felt a little underwhelmed by it all, I didn't have to do anything I wouldn't already do at a league start in order to unlock conqueror fights. They weren't locked behind red maps, nor were they challenging. They are actually accessible and required to progress. |

Man, that Dunning-Kruger effect is really flowing here.
Some people find it hard to believe a new player can reach t16 in just a few weeks, typically because they did not and may not have yet. Yet, at the same time, these same people will focus heavily on what the streamers do. Despite said streamers showing superior aptitude, it's utter disbelief when it comes to a random new player. If you already know there are players playing at a higher level than you, it shouldn't be a stretch that some do surprisingly well as beginners. There are veteran players here that have never even seen the content I've completed and yet there are newer players that run circles around me. I figured out the new atlas on my own, but a lot of that was because I had learned the mechanics of the original atlas from a cutedog video where he broke down the fundamentals. If I hadn't been so familiar with shaping the old atlas and its quirks, I'd have likely been more confused like a lot of players have been since. It did also help that I learned it in standard first, so I had a map pool already built. Trying to manipulate the new atlas while building up watchstones can do more harm than good, particularly if you're just guessing as you go. But really, if there are folks that can consistently push 100 in just a few days, don't be surprised that there are folks that do well early on - be skeptical sure, but accept that its not really farfetched. Yep, totally over league play.

Wow, I see a lot of angry young ones posting.
The term Mad cause bad comes to mind. | |
" Isn't that the hypotheses of the cognitive bias of illusory superiority? |

" Wrong. They were locked behind regions and you had to do them in order, that wasnt shown at all. There wasnt UI that was telling us "you alredy spawned this conqueror in this zones, you need to go to other region now". There wasnt UI that was telling us "you already spawned conqueror in this zone, you need to put more watchstones to spawn another". In fact, there wasnt UI for ANYTHING. I feel like people didnt play previous league and are thinking atlas had all those tips literally everywhere when it came out. You could unlock 8 watchstones by just doing random maps. After that you had to know how this shit works otherwise you would run dozens if not hunderds of maps wodering why the fuck conqueror is not spawning. Thats why all those threads about them being bugged. They werent bugged. People just didnt know how this shit worked. Last edited by Aynix#7757 on Apr 18, 2020, 3:20:17 AM

" More or less - in cases like this its mostly in reference to people feeling that their personal experience IS the experience. It's not that they're completely off, its just the unwillingness to consider that their experience isn't the only one. Yep, totally over league play.
