Honestly if Wolcen will add cash shop in addition to the game being B2P I wont be suprised if it will end just like BDO (I know its ot same genre). Creators will focus on adding new shit to the cash shop instead of adding new things to the game and at some point it will become P2W mess.
End up? Isnt BDO doing ok? With a sequel planned?
Maybe I'm wrong...

Wolcen is following in the footsteps of too many games that are blurring the line between what is acceptable for a b2p and f2p game.
Hrm, and here I thought the consumer decided on what was acceptable or not.
The free market is deterministic. Either Wolcen and its shop/content expansions will sell and be viable, or it wont, and they will fail.
Point is what you consider "unacceptable" can do well, and be accepted by others, and vice versa for "acceptable" games.
I dont think gatekeeping based on personal values is effective. Vote with your wallet if you feel that strongly.
I did. I got a refund. I've helped a ton of other people get refunds, who give up because of the 2 hour window auto deny.

Yes, its still very populat, and thanks to all the money it got its getting "sequel" (crimson desert). Still doesnt change the fact it went from one of the greatest MMORPG ever made to P2W hellhole.

this is a pretty great summary, I absolutely loved BDO it was so fresh and had some many cool ideas going on, and I could dropkick trolls as an eight foot giant i guess but my god the korean p2win bullshit absolutely hosed it.
Its like the only MMORPG to change or advance the formula for like a decade and they ruined access by making it wallet warriors only -_-

Wolcen is fucking terrible, combat is so clunky and unresponsive, story sucks, items suck, bugs galore, online doesn't work, endgame is weak. Wish I could get my money back.
Talk to @Destructodave, I hear that he has guided himself and others to refundville.

I will look into it, I have 12 hours logged (grinded out the story on Sunday), haven't been able to log in at all since then, Sunday was literally the only day the servers would let me in since game went live.
Normally I wouldn't even give a shit as 40 dollars is whatever but it makes me angry knowing I have given a bunch of scam artists my money as I am 100% convinced this game will go offline at some point in the near future and become some maintenance mode vaporware while the devs roll of into the sunset with a bunch of cash.
The game was in development hell for years. It's very likely that they ran out of money, and investors told them to release what they had and jump the price.
No excuses for the messy launch, but no one is riding off anywhere as a multimillionaire

You have to find a space that a human will 100% look at. I got a refund after 12 hours myself. I put mine in under download issues, but you can use any place that wont be auto denied by the 2 hour system. You can use I have a question about this purchase, too. Anywhere where you can actually contact steam support.
I put mine under "game wont download or install." Any option that lets you directly contact steam support.

It's a kickstarter game, I don't think they had investors. no backing doesn't count as investing
