All this PoE2 is from the beginning pure, extracted marketing :) In fact, it must have looked something like this. Imagine a stage and two actors, one collective. Wilson and his team. Action time: Some time before Exile Con.

Wilson: Did You Hear? Blizzard is to release Diablo 4. He showed a gameplay piece, we have to give the right answer.
Team: But boss…

Wilson: (he makes a menacing face a'la Benito Mussolini ) Clearly? So show off what you have there.
Team: In fact… uhm… ugh… next league, probably… little bit this, little bit that… and… a lot of new MTX, of course!
Wilson: For starters, that's enough. And this, well, patch 4.0? What's with it?

Wilson: No, of course not. Make 7 new acts, add some simple story, change some skill tree, throw out something that most infuriated players…
Team: Uhm… ugh… you mean… trade system, boss?
Wilson: How dare you!? Of course not. Kick out socketing. Yes, kick it. And make some new MTX. And stash tabs. And shout out loud that it's PoE 2. People will buy it.
