I honestly dont know what the Devs have in store for Wolcen, but we will see soon enough on what the retention numbers are.

Also since it's a $40 game sustainability isn't designed to work like PoE, who needs retention. Wolcen can profit and survive to expansions like Grim Dawn, or Diablo, or many other paid games. PoE needs constant players, mtx, supporter packs, etc...

Based on my hunch. People went to try Wolcen just because current league is pretty much dead. They will go back to PoE as soon as new league will arrive. Will they go back to Wolcen when they get bored of another league? I highly doubt it, unless Wolcen devs will release some major update (for free ofc)

I ended up thinking "this is a bit better than PoE, but much worse than diablo 3" in terms of smooth gameplay.

It ended up being somewhere in the middle for most things.

class flexibility, better than D3, much worse than PoE
gameplay, a bit better than poe, much worse than D3
visuals, better than PoE, much worse than D3

and so on.

Wolcen has sex appeal, something PoE is allergic too.
