Can we stop pretending that Path of Exile is free to play?
" It was just an example, that you can start games without paying. P.S I have an advantage with my tabs over someone who doesn't...The advantage of playing more efficient. This is a proven fact. I started having a lot more currency after getting the tabs than before. My friend who just got tabs ended up the same after getting map / currency and some premium tabs. Free to Try. Anyone saying they play deep into end game with 4 tabs is just straight lying or selling materials with value to merchants/making dozens of accounts to hold stuff. The scam in this game is 100% bag space. Like a mobile game.
PoE 1 is the best. PoE 2 is something.

" Better only play whats efficient then gotta strive to be better than everyone else in your non competitive multiplayer game. Don't play melee! Your efficiency rating will drop Sinner |

Iam so sick of this "Can we stop pretending that Path of Exile is free to play?" Bull****.
Defintion of F2P: "Free-to-play (F2P or FtP) video games, also known as free-to-start,[1] are games that give players access to a significant portion of their content without paying (In Poe you get acces to all Content!). Free-to-play can be contrasted with pay to play, in which payment is required before using a service for the first time. " So PoE is F2P end of discussion! And this discussion should be more like: "Can we stop pretending that you can play Path of Exile !Endgame! for free?" Apart from that, I went through the story (30-40h) without spending any money. If you want to keep playing afterwards you can do that even without spending money and if you just need the comfor you shouldn't be so stingy with spending a littlebit money on stash tabs to support the game you already played more than 30-40h and to support the developers, youe played an awesome game 30-40h totally for free without beeing forced to spend money. And if POE would be like a normal Retail Game you would have payed at least 500$ and you would played one playthrou maybe 2 and thats it, you just had finished the game and then you would put it aside forever. Maybe there would be an Addon with the Content of 2-3 Leagues for 30-40$+. I hope GGG continues as it is today. Last edited by Benzka#6451 on Feb 25, 2020, 6:46:35 AM

Benzka, with the greatest respect, the definition above is not something the gaming community as a whole has approved and therefore cannot be base on settling the PoE question.
(do not forget to add links as proof for important claims). E: Quick "googling" revealed the quotation was taken from wiki[1], however, what is in wiki is not a proof. Even more, people who have logged in there can edit freely. --- 1. Wikipedia, "Free-to-play", https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free-to-play, (accessed 25.02.2020). Exactly why I said you can call it what ever you would like. There's no authority that could define the term. It's a stupid discussion that's accomplished absolutely nothing in 300+ posts.

" No, you cant. |

" "Pay-to-win In some games, players who are willing to pay for special items, downloadable content, or to skip cooldown timers may be able to gain an advantage over those playing for free who might otherwise need to spend time progressing or waiting in order to unlock said items. In general a game is considered pay-to-win when a player can gain any gameplay advantage over his non-paying peers, which is shown in games such as FIFA. Such games are called "pay-to-win" by critics. Market research indicates that pay-to-win mechanics are considered much more acceptable by players in China than in Western countries, possibly because Chinese players are more habituated to recurring costs associated with gaming, such as gaming café fees.[36] ..." You should also add this part from Wiki, which in PoE term, gives you advantage over not paying players which results in saved time respectively "need to spend time progressing". |

" So edit it and show it is still there. Lets say 48 hours. If it stays, than its only because you was posting there before and you have good credit, otherwise you cant. Last edited by Rexeos#3429 on Feb 25, 2020, 7:42:56 AM
