Hitting 100 in POE
|
There really isn't a difference between your proposed leveling system and the currently implemented one.
Either, It takes longer to level but you don't lose experience when you die. Or, It takes longer to level because when you die you lose experience. However, the systems differ in the way they might influence how people approach leveling. In the current system, people who want to reach level 100 must do so carefully. Typically by doing what the OP describes: familiar, less risky but also less rewarding content. In the proposed system, people might be more willing to take risks by doing some of the newer and more challenging end game content because they do not fear loss of experience. I prefer the current system but wouldn't bat an eye if they changed it. Last edited by Xefferman#0536 on Jan 9, 2020, 8:40:23 PM

Just let people hit 100 if they run t14 to 16 maps with less exp penalty for upper 90.
Then make content for max level like every other modern game. Grind to 100 is just an artificial way for gggg to claim hours of content. Lets hold them to a higher standard. |

I agree 100% with this. I was talking about it yesterday with my guild... hitting lv 100 simply IS NOT FUN. I belive the game should be fun to play... the way I tought of going around this is to put some mechanic where you can reduce death penalty somehow like defeating some bosses would give you access to craft something that would reduce 1% death xp loss each boss and each craft completed and those should be uber expensive like (10c - 20c - 40c - 80c- 1 Ex- 2 Ex - 4 Ex- 8 Ex - 16 Ex) each 1% reduction of xp loss on death so if you're ok to rush and you know your gameplay while also having the patient to go straight to lv 100 good for you, but the average player would also be able to get to lv 100 and close his build. Pehaps give a Diamond portrait or platinum to those that get lv 100 without the XP redicion crafts or whatever... but make the leveling more fun and smooth...

" Slightly more readable than your usual posts but omg can you pls condense into more readable paragraphs lol, i find it actually difficult to absorb your posts. Its no surprise why in some cases people tend to miss the point you are trying to make even if its arguably right or wrong. the death penalty sucks
just my opinion and i'm sure i'd say the same if i'd hit 100 "There are Penalties in the Game, no one's complaining about them"

"The very tiny incremental stats you get and last few passives from 95-100 don't change anything for pretty much every build..."
Then there's no need to change the penalty. It does it's job well until you get to a level where the last few points don't matter. There is no need to reach 100 the safe way when it isn't necessary to reach in the first place. The real issue is some of the absurd one-shot mechanics and horrible performance of this league. |

" There's elitism and then there are people like this. Yep, totally over league play.

some people have the oppinion:
Its always been like this so we dont change it. doesnt matter how stupid something is: they argue for the sake of arguing |
|
" Actually, if you cared at all about the other side of the argument, you'd know there's plenty of arguments. If you'd been around for long enough you'd even know it used to be 15% but was lowered to 10% in the past. Honestly, there's some irony in you claiming I don't read your more than spurious arguments and now you deny that those who oppose removing the Death Penalty have any arguments. The forum search function is a thing, you know. Go educate yourself The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

Death penalty is a good thing to prevent 4k life Abyssus Mathil style builds from dominating the game by zerging content to death successfully.
