Having us kill civilians in Oriath Square is tasteless.

you may have missed a frog.
The frogs actually drop loot! This game promotes animal cruelty!

This statement is much more valid than OP, but if you cared about it enough to make a thread, it'd be a sign you don't have enough real problems in your life.

But for those who do care, it may seem both unnecessary and tasteless. Sure, perhaps I should not care but I do. And GGG knows that some Players care and hence the "tasteless" comment.

Yeah but those ppl also have right to keep their opinion to themselfs. Why not? Me for example when i play GTA i always (almost) drive according to drivers laws. Why not? I like it that way. But im not bragging about it on GTA forum and try to change anything in game. Whats the point?

And again - they are not innocent.

What is the point? The point, here, is that we both cared enough to comment (as also demonstrated by the whole discussion regarding whether or not they had it coming (spoiler: we all have it coming)).

I read that with claps where the . are... like they do on social media.

Because its true.

PS... I like killing those fuckers.. Its a video game after all killing shit you cant in real life is pretty much the entire point.

With all the bugs and issues that come each and every single league that we have to deal with the first 2 weeks to a month of each league this thread is... reaching to say the least as far as complaints go.
There is a fine line between Consideration and Hesitation.
The former is Wisdom, the latter is Fear.

Depends on build. Targeted build w/no aoe it is possible but w/aoe? Forget it. Some will die.
Censored.
What a wonderful mix of people reacting to something they don't understand (lack of reading comprehension as its 'best'), trolls, people antagonizing eachother ....
Really a great place to see how obnoxious the internet can be for sure, for pretty much no reason.

(I_NO's joke kinda made me laugh though I must admit)

OP has a point, taking small parts outside of their whole context and attacking based on it is simply stupid, but I don't expect most people here to get that.

I entirely agree, I don't care much about the issue at hand, but it's valid and constructive feedback nonetheless, those citizens in Oriath serve pretty much no purpose (the way they currently are, as friendly fire isn't a thing to begin with), it's simply something poorly thought out imo.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

I find it flavorful. Seriously, you're playing the bad guys, other than the Marauder and Templar. All these people are criminals perfectly fine with killing people, the Shadow and Duelist loved doing it.

It'd make a lot less sense for them to not be killing the civilians. Especially the Templar though, in that situation he'd probably want all of Oriath dead.
Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.

This is like the start of thread like 'Why can't marauder be female' and 'Why are most endbosses male'.

Not much I despise more then fake politically correctness.

IMHO its kinda similar to that old "New Oriath is Nazi!!!" thread. Its retarded. No serious talks just emotional gibberish.

Yep, I know that there are (much) greater problems with the game than this in 2019.

Yep, I know that some of the less thoughtful denizens of this forum will ridicule this very topic being brought up. ("STFU, SJW!")

But I have to say it: It just feels gross.

I know that killing innocents in video games is a thing. I actually don't necessarily object to it. In some cases it drives a narrative forward, or is even done to try and force new perspectives upon the players. It's never easy to do well, but it does have a potentially legitimate role in narrative design.

But we all know that PoE doesn't have such narrative aspirations. In the absence of the above, having the hero of the story kill "frightened citizens" (as they are labeled), just because they are also being targeted by the rebels who are against the civilians' government, doesn't feel edgy nor impactful. It feels repulsive. Not everyone wants to play a villain, so why virtually force it upon us by flagging these NPCs as enemies?

Easy fix: Keep their behavior, and make them untargetable.

You don't have to kill them
Need more brains, exile?
