I like that they're giving us the option to choose whether your character has become bitter enough to avenge their treatment upon the poor citizens. Maybe your character simply doesn't care that much about "human shields" that are in the way of dispatching your actual enemies.
Once your character gets to that point in the story they've already killed thousands of beings, some of them human. Either they've become numb to the killing or they're enjoying it. There's no way you're stopping to think if that guy deserved it when you're butchering hordes of people left and right. The exiles are practically demigods at that point and it's hard to see how taking a humans life would feel any different to them than squishing a bug. In that sense I feel it's correct for the townsfolk to be killable. If the player wants to feel noble about it they'll have to take the extra care to make sure they don't hurt anyone who didn't deserve it in their opinion. |

Agreed, making them 'hostiles' in terms of targeting was always a bad choice. Why these townsfolk but not the slaves a couple of zones earlier, or the 'innocent' wild animals roaming around various areas? There's no coherent message to it, it's pointlessly gratuitous.

but more people don't use brain or just don't care Play SSF HC League only. Already lose count how many time i be slain in SSF HC. " But they're not the same sort of people. Oriathans exiled you and depending on your class may have treated you or your people badly (marauder and witch for sure). The people in Lioneyes watch take you in and give you solace and they're outcasts themselves. During the Epilogue it's a good question but maybe most of them have died and you feel they've been given a lesson. They'd probably treat you like Geralt in Witcher 3 gets treated in the city and you'd probably feel the same about them as he feels. This thread is a fun thought exercise |
