just a thought... since PoE will be free to download/play (so a kid can easily purchase it) and parents usualy cant monitor the kids all the time, kids 11-14 years old at least, shouldnt see dead babys.

kids at that age knows that zombies, huge spiders and all the other monsters, are just fantasy, but dead babys is something "real" that i dont realy think kids should see.

beside the kids, i dont think PoE or any other game needs to show dead babys to be dark, they are more effective ways, dead babys is a cheap way.

Why exactly should a kid not see a dead baby? Im not trolling. Its a serious question. If the job of a parent is to prepare the children for adulthood, your already failing pretty bad if you think that showing children the possible bad outcomes of thier decisions is not apropriate.
The whole reason young people tend to engage in high risk behaviour is because they live lives without any real consequence. If a child never has the opportunity to understand what your trying to keep it safe from, it will only resent rather than respect your interference in its life.
If i was ever irresponcible enough to have a kid, i would be showing it prison, morgue's, the DMV. All the places you can find the worst of consequences. Kids need to understand just how much life plays for keeps. Simply telling them it does doesnt cut it.

i was focusing in a certain age, so by the same logic we should show in a 12yo a rape? sure he/she has to know about anything bad that can happen but not by this age and not by pc games.

Beside the kids, i will say again that i think dead babys and similar things is a cheap way, look at D1.
Um, guys? The OP, Abernathy, hasn't posted a single thing since this thread. He probably isn't even reading it, anymore (and I can hardly blame him, given the thorough spanking he's received from folks who enjoy their gritty, horror-fantasy RPGs, well, horrible).

I think we might be able to agree on the conclusion that the OP wasn't speaking for most of us, and that, in the context of this game, this thread was, perhaps, poorly thought-out before posting.

If y'all are still enjoying beating this horse post mortem, by all means, continue. Otherwise...

And watch all that congealed blood, gristle, rancid flesh and hide fly? To hear its bones crack?

You betcha, I'm flaying... erm, flailing!

AH, DEAD HORSE!
12/12/12 - the day Germany decided boys are not quite human.
The only thing that could make this better is if it were a dead foal!

Actually they should defintly know about rape by 12. Better you educate them by earlier than 12 about it before there uncle educates them about it when they are 12. I was introduced to rape at 4 yrs old when i was in the same bed as a hells angel having his way with my mother at knifepoint. What would you prefer your 12 year old learn about rape from? A video game, or a drunk hells angel?
