"No Dead Babies" Option, Please

Yeah, it's likely that this just isn't the game for you or your 9-year-old kid. Personally I was playing Mortal Kombat (ripping out peoples' spines etc) when I was 9, but then again, I'm not a healthy person - a responsible parent wouldn't let their kids play violent videogames at that age, period - regardless of possible dead children within that game. :)
What have you become when even nightmares fear you?

I wholeheartedly second the request for an option to hide the dead babies. For some of us, it then gets a little TOO real, if you know what I mean. I think an option for those of us who can't handle that sort of thing would be nice and appreciated.

There will be an option (a paid option I think) to increase the blood and gore, after all. So while you're there, why not add one that simply hides it?

Personally, I really like the blood and gore. The dead babies however, thats just going a way to far, and it kills the fantasy of it all.

Again, just asking for an option to hide/remove them.

I must'a been distracted, but I didn't notice any babies or dolls, just adult corpses...

Maybe they aren't there every time.

And they're dolls! Not dead babies.
I wish there was more gore. Don't play this game in front of your kids. Read them a book. Play when they are asleep.
Not to sound elitist, but I in a lot of ways kind of miss the old-school, "smash mouth" type of gamer that saw offensive imagery as way to express that the world you're in is not messing around.

Remember Diablo 1? Pentagrams, burning inverted Crosses, clergymen impaled on pikes, townspeople left decapitated, women naked and chained to walls while gutted or outright ripped in half. Even Diablo 2's Harem levels had slave girls restrained to posts, clothes torn and sadistically tortured.

Then there's Archbishop Lazarus who has a dead kid, heart ripped out and all, right on his altar while surrounded by completely nude succubi.

To me, that sort of stuff enhances the experience and makes me want to rid of the evil even more.
I wish there was a "No over-secure parents with squeamish kids" option.

Yes, another one of those "Blood & Gore" topics.

I, too, have had a kid -- in my case a 9 year-old boy -- tell me that the blood & gore was just gross. He also asked why anyone would want that in a game?

I couldn't tell him why because I have absolutely no idea, personally. But I don't get the appeal of slasher horror movies, either, so go figure.

OK, so, we can argue about whether including a blood & gore pref level is worth the time.

But the gratuitous dead baby on the starter beach? Seriously?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us parents the option of not seeing what is the single most upsetting image we can possibly see.

Dead babies == not fun.

Thanks.
It's a game. The game is meant to be grimdark.

If it fits with the gameplay, and atmosphere then it should stay. Since it DOES fit with the rest of the atmosphere it should stay. It's not like it's a horribly tortured or mutilated baby corpse. It's very small and very well COULD just be a discarded baby doll. This game has humans horribly mutilated, and people in a desperate and dark land. Terrible things are happening. The whole game is taking place surrounded by unpleasant things. It fits, it should stay.
