Petition/Request for GGG to show that they actually read the official forums and not just reddit

Cyzax you just called GGG and the developers stupid, does that make you the toxic person now?

Ehhh... I did no such thing...
It is not even remotely a question of 'filtering'.

How is it not.

It's fairly easy to understand what Eula is saying without taking offense to the words being utilized like a pre-teen in his hormonal drift would do.

If there isn't an adult around at the GGG office that can read these forums and not be "emotionally damaged" by reading some ill-worded critique's then these forums are the least of our worry's.

For some perspective, there are countless people working suicide hotlines or emergency call centers who are perfectly happy and emotionally stable. So i would reckon that this vision of people being "unable to cope over a prolonged period of time" with some infantile wording on a games forum is childish.

The time management argument i have no problem with, but dont mix it in with the "words hurt people" argument, which is childish and infantile at best.

2 Days, and not a single response from GGG.
Not even a yes or no.

GGG you try so hard to be on a level with the comunity. But you are very silent on the forums.

I assume bex is not back yet? probaly why.

Rory also browses the forums. :)

Ask them again 1-2 days after the league launches, everyone is probably really busy right now. :)

When did that player come into the discussion??? (I wasn't referring to him/her)

You just answered this question of mine:
"Have you ever tried running a game like this... and day after day have to read through toxic messages [about something you've worked hard on and put in long hours to do] and respond to them?"
...with a resounding 'No'!

Being subjected, day after day, with angry commenters constantly trying to denigate your work, without being able to answer back, and even if you do the *beep*s will just redouble their effort to break your spirit... after a while, it inevitably breaks you down.

It has been seen in game after game, and eventually it leads to people retreating from the toxicity... just like it has here... It is not the sole reason game developers retreat from their forums, but it is a very real one.

Not in any way a valid comparison... Those jobs are emotionally strained, but they're not personal!
In those jobs, you're not faced with a constant barrage of 'you suck', 'your work is shite', 'you don't know anything', 'even an idiot could do this better', and so on... and it never ends...

Let's ignore the fact they are personally invested in the job they occupy and get battered by random callers just like in all other sectors when an ass-hat appears.

Yeah it isn't a fair comparison because they are under higher pressure then receiving criticism from cluelles people, which is part of the job description of about 100% of the arts and community profiles.

You have a very childlike imagination when it comes to working adults in a public industry.
Demonstrated by the whole "you just answered my question with a no" while having no clue about me.

Have a good one, keep the dream alive sir.

edit : as to what the op is asking for, GGG have stated on multiple occasions they read the feedback section and this has been demonstrated over the years by various implementations based on concepts of this board.

As for why they don't respond to threads directly is also a fairly easy deduction, if they respond to some and infrequently then other posters get the perception their thread hasn't been aknowledged which results in a negative PR backlash.

It's far easier to not respond and keep everybody equally in the dark.

Lets try to keep this civil guys :P
Innocence forgives you
That's generally the only thing they ever show up to say, and you just had to do it for them.

It's all good, i simply dislike this projection on other people that they are so emotionally incapable that they cant differentiate between legit criticism and some random stranger walking up to you and calling you names.

Like any adult is going to take the later serious and be distraught because of it.

The way he worded that makes me think of Neon sitting in a dark corner somewhere sucking his thumb frantically after a visit to the forums. A notion that is worth a chuckle for the mental image provided and redundant in any other sense.

the league is far too bloated, demanding and counter to the way the game is played. At this point people should have been identifying and tagging dead mobs and then the little man comes along and harvests a special part of them, puts it in a jar and you use the bits in jars to craft, maybe by creating some kind of abomination Frankenstein boss beast you have to kill from the harvested body parts. Then it would make sense of being able to kill them first and would gel with the game. A whole kind of taxidermy creepy organs in jars freakshow horror theme. That would have been cool

I made that post in march 2018, on page 10 of some thread, it was made in criticism of bestiary league. If I could be bothered digging through my post history I could probably pull out 20+ posts that have obviously been read and incorporated. I dont think Im any exception, I think theres tons of people who make regular suggestions on the forums and loads of them we can see ending up in the game.

theres a lot people who never make suggestions, they just criticise, X is terrible, Y is a disaster, Z should never have been added etc. most people with something to say about the game make those posts to some extent. if thats all someone is posting its obviously hard to really see confirmation that their post has been read and taken seriously. those things are often changed but theres 100s of people making the same point so its easy to think no, they just did it because of the ppl on reddit who were saying it... nah, theyre listening to both forums.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
Maybe you're a psychic! :O
