Petition/Request for GGG to show that they actually read the official forums and not just reddit
" Well said and I do think GGG is a great developer in many aspects over so many mainstream and much larger companies these days, I would not expect an official response in any thread here on x or y feature for the reasons you mentioned but it would be nice to know that the contributions here are not for nothing and that they do get read from time to time. It makes me sad to see posts where people think their ideas and comments do not matter.. I'm just hoping that just maybe someone at GGG could step up and say "this does matter and we do care" because i think this feedback we provide here is important even if this particular forum can get quite dark sometimes i see so many great ideas posted all the time and just knowing that someone at GGG does actually attempt to sift through some of this stuff would not only increase morale here but encourage others to take a step forward and contribute their own ideas that perhaps they did not think was worth the time since "noone would read it" Anywho thanks for the constructive post :D Innocence forgives you

I think this post got a little off track due to some heated debate. But yeah I agree about the original intent as well. And this is coming from someone who primarily uses Reddit, mostly because it has other stuff not related to the game.

" Look back in this thread, and you can see a perfect example in one specific persons comments why this won't happen... It is simply too toxic getting into discussion with such a person. Even a simple response like the one you say would immediately be responded to with more toxicity (because now he got a response AND thus a new target), which would affect the general community in here even more. Game over... |

There's a thing adults like to do with toxicity: ignore it. There's plenty of genuine feedback on here, including well-intentioned and level-headed criticism. They have a responsibility to consider it. Frankly, there are some topics on which we are wholly justified in calling them out as being rather stupid; is there anyone who honestly accepts the bullshit in the trade manifesto vs. having a system that at the very least makes map trading less diseased? I get that this thing is big enough that they don't have alot of time for it. It is also big enough that it should be somebody's job to have time for it. When's the last time you felt like the community manager was managing this community?
Furthermore, the Trade Manifesto delenda est.

" So... they should ignore all the constructive criticism posts and some great ideas given by some passionate fans because of two or three toxic people? Doesn't seem fair. This is the official game forum. It should matter much more than other discussion platform. Last edited by Gordyne#2944 on Dec 2, 2019, 11:02:05 AM

" Cyzax you just called GGG and the developers stupid, does that make you the toxic person now? Honestly curious if you even realize you just said that we can filter out a toxic post while continueing a conversation but you don't think the people @GGG have that ability. And being toxic shouldn't imply a free-pass to ignore the message, since most people can hold a fragment of the truth coated in various less than savory ways. I am a firm believer that the Official Forums should be the primary way that GGG communicates with Players. So to the best of their ability, all news should break (exclusively or simultaneously) on the Forums - and preferably as a new thread (or an addition to an on-topic Thread). And I get that GGG can only respond to a very few posts.
And while I find the Reddit thing annoying, I can see that it does have it uses. For example, if I had a thorny or time-sensitive issue and I had safe access to a Hive Mind (the Borg Queen comes to mind), then I might find myself taking that opportunity. But there is no way that I would feel comfortable lauding the Hive Mind or touting it over the chaos that individual will tends to produce. Formerly posted under AnExile_onthePath

" Ehhh... I did no such thing... It is not even remotely a question of 'filtering'. " I didn't do that either... Remember that we (the players) have no personal commitment and investment in the business of this game. The developers do! That is all the difference needed. " Have you ever tried running a game like this... and day after day have to read through toxic messages and respond to them? It slowly grinds you down until the point where you lose the will to live (or at least continue doing it). That is why by far the most (all?) game development companies once they reach a certain size stop responding. Some developers even stop reading their forums entirely and concentrate on the tasks they're assigned to. Mentally it is sometime the healthy thing to do. That(!) is what the toxic behaviour displayed by some players do! It is also why a forum like feedback is probably only read for response by a very small group of GGG'ers, and even then they're restricting themselves. Prudent company policy would prohibit response by anyone else, for the above reasons. Last edited by Cyzax#3287 on Dec 2, 2019, 2:53:26 PM

" I VERY much doubt it is ignored. It would be stupid to do so... Someone from GGG will be reading it. Maybe not all comments, but at least most/all of the posts. It would however, also be counterproductive to answer since it would goad the toxic people into (much) more effort. " It isn't... " It should... but it can't... at least not as a two-way discussion between developers and players. |

Why would you think GGG doesnt read these forums?
Where do you think are those "[Removed by Support]" thingies are coming from? So they do read the forums for sure. |
