Biggest LIE in PoE HisStory
dude are you serious?
I play this game for 5 years and always HC. When I die I fucking lost my character. Can't you deal with some xp loss in SC? Of Course nobody is complaining about XP loss or death penalty. 30% of the game play HC, so we deal with death. And even on 70% of SC players nobody is mad with dying, I have friends that play SC, some kind of penalty has to be done. Otherwise the game would be completely retarded and player would not be afraid of die at all. My end, it justifies my means,
All I ever do is delay, My every attempt to evade, The end of the road And my end.... |

Barely anyone says to completely do away with death penalty. It's important for it to be there. Consider actually reading the topic you're responding to. People don't and this thread is huge mess because of it.

" 30% is optimistic. If Scrubcore people (like myself) wanted to waste our time when we die, we'd play hardcore, that's why we're playing scrubcore instead. I don't like the experience loss, it's deletion of time. There needs to be a penalty, not that I'm sure what PoE could do besides experience loss, but regression for the sake of punishment is always dumb |

History has one ‘s’ and you don’t capitalize the middle of words. Thanks.
Also if you don’t like being penalized for dying, don’t do it. |

If you can't reach the next level without dying you don't deserve it. I would say most people that blindly follow build guides and have little understanding of the game complain about xp penalty, it has been around for ages in many games before and people have accepted it then will continue to do so. Hate to be that guy but if you don't like the rules of a game, either don't play or learn them and work around them.

" This makes no sense, OP has many level 100's. He's obviously good at this game and knows how to work around this, but still complains about death penalty and righteously, because while there needs to be a penalty for dying atm it's too harsh in high 90's. |

"Its funny to because these threads always show the opposite. The OP always complains about the penalty and then the vast majority of people who post in the thread disagrees with them. It seems clear to me that most people realize its necessary for the games health. |

" Rofl No. Why not? Most people don't even get far enough to lose exp on death. Reimur: even though you're wrong, why would you have faith in diamond supporters? you're talking about a group of people that are so autistic that they would spend 1000 dollars on pixels. we're almost the most idiotic group of people in this community. second to hardcore players.

" interesting because the game has done nothing but grow bigger every year since it launched with a few tens of thousands of players to 200k people watching a live stream the other day. In any case how do you expect people to take posts seriously when you just blatantly make shit up as you talk? I get it you don't like death penalties in games because it makes you feel bad. I mean no one loves penalties but then the game would feel pretty dumb without consequences. So how much consequence is enough to make your choices in the game feel impactful? Don't just make up a number and try to assert that its everyones fucking number... all you personally can do is argue WHAT YOU LIKE or DON'T LIKE. Stop doing this thing where you pretend to know how many people leave POE over -10% XP. Just argue from the only standpoint you and I have available to us: the subjective. To me the penalty is fine, I might even play a third setting between softcore and HC if there was one. An Ironman mode might be fun especially if they reigned in the rando one shots. You on the other hand would prefer a mode that gave much less importance to your choices allowing you to brush off character death, even the ones that are due to bad build and skill or counter play failures on your part. (and lets face it the stupid one shots that have no counter play). Now thats fine. Not sure there's enough of you to pressure for an "easy mode" but you can try. I get it though, I can't play HC because #1 many one shots in POE have no counter play and #2 the internet and POE don't mix well enough to make me okay with the chances of losing a character to the other "RNG death" of disconnects and lag. So I play softcore where if they removed the RNG one shots I would feel the death penalty is too light. Right now though its probably where it needs to be. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. |
