This seems to be a common misunderstanding about mines and on hit effect.

Any on hit effect that gives a player a benefit such as applying fortify, or life gain on hit, etc DOESN'T work with totems / traps / mines.

However, any on hit effect debuffing an enemy or having any detrimental effect on an enemy DOES work with totems / traps / mines. And lightning exposure debuffs the target. This has been tested and confirmed multiple times.



Sorry should have rephrased that, the ones that you want to actually get don’t work with mines. While the lightning exposure does work, you don’t want it. End game, trigger a socketed spell is better than crit multi and it doesn’t stack with woc debuff.

I’d keep the crit personally.

I did the same,
had 35k tooltip dmg with AwaAddedLight,
changed to
AwaLightPen,
got to 27k tooltip dmg,
but it feels like 50% more damage.

I think, it IS around 30% more damage, but no System can handle that pen-info. That is annoying.
Which newer Player should get into this, lol.

Icicle mine is very nice, and prevents u from porcupines (cause they scatter cause frozen and dont explode), but the total damage is less than BL.

You need aspect of the spider and level 2 enlighten. That should only cost around 60-70c together.

I’d use the rest on machina mitts.

Pob can handle the calculations fine, but it doesn’t do it by default. It thinks mobs all have zero resists for some reason. Most mobs are capped or overcapped for one reason or another while mapping and you need to manually set those res numbers to get an accurate picture. Try setting the mobs light resists to 75% and watch what happens in pob.
Does anyone know exactly how close the mines should be placed near the enemy, so that the aoe from High Impact Mines support work?

I've been looking around the forums and wiki and found nothing.

They do not. There aren’t really any great mods to be found on influenced bases. Ailment effect is probably the best one, check my level 100 sab for an example.


Thanks for the reply. How about lightning exposure on hit from crusader mod ? Just crafted this wand and will be going for t1 crit chance with spells along with 1 more suffix. If lightning exposure works, would it be better to have it on here or get the crafted qual + crit chance ?

i meant ingame, tooltip dmg, not in PoB.
Imo the game SHOULD be able to calculate that thing, even if it has to assume that there is a mob with XY-resist.
But nvm, ty for your tips, i just cant stand that there are dps-calculate-problems ingame. Nothing against u ofc.
