Quit PoE today

Of course people are going to quit. No doubt.

But a massive exodus of players in a week of your new league, plagued with self inflected performance issues, and and overall lack of hype / interest in the game (player count) is troubling.

The game isnt dead or anything ridiculous, but GGG cant string a bunch of sub-par leagues together and expect to meet financial expectations.

Says who? You? Ok :p

I guess i must instantly leave to forum because some random guy who's mad at my post for some reason says so, even though literally right below you there's multiple people giving their feedback to me and commending the post. Why would i not stick around a bit until this thread is active and respond? Lol...

Gonna just leave this.

(This is seperate) I don't know if you're oblivious, or bored, or what. You clearly aren't gonna respond properly to anything though.

Gonna leave what, 2 quotes about what exaclty? I have responded to everything properly as can be seen by the amount of text in my posts, when compared to yours. I just debunked you and now you have nothing else to say :p

Gl to you too, indeed it's nothing new. People come and go. Looking at numbers from the launch of Blight, it seems more are going than coming right now though. I doubt someone has the exact points in their "i quit" thread as me, but perhaps. Guess it just indicates something then :p

It indicates one thing. A few more half baked, bugged leagues made by several inexperienced coders who have never even played this game, while all the rest are "working on 4.0", which means that in reality they waiting for Acti Blizz to have mercy and release their "4", so that GGG has something to parrot and where to get ideas that they had exhausted about 2 years ago :P
You have been placed on probation for: ● Make hateful or needlessly negative comments ● Personally attack or cause harm to the reputation of others ● Antagonise others in an obnoxious manner ●
Thanks to everyone for their positive comments (except the 2 ppl who for some reason are mad), i have read them all and will continue to read them until this thread is active :p
Lol look at the twitch viewers. Even the streamers dont Play anymore. From more than 50k viewers to 8k.

Hope ggg do something

I think they're fully aware of the fact that Tower Defense isn't for everyone. I'm also pretty sure they knew Synthesis wouldn't be for everyone. I don't know what their "financial/economical threshold" is, but I'm pretty sure they're comfortably within those limits.

I'm with them on that; every league can't be "loved" by anyone, and it's OK - from all perspectives - to say to yourself: "I don't like this league or its mechanics - I'm sitting this one out". And I think they have that scenario in their calculations. I also think they have BL3 and WoW in their equation - somewhere.

That said, from a mechanical point of view, they can't shoot themselves in the foot each Goddamn league. I understand completely that they can't afford (time wise) to mass-test each league within their current 3-month schedule. But it wouldn't have been rocket science to try running a blighted map or two on an OK+ computer to find out that things aren't... A-OK.

Gonna play devil's advocate here.

Judging by the fact that we are some weeks into the league now and blighted maps are still broken, I think it's safe to assume that fixing them is not easy at all. (I would hope that they are putting every effort into making core league content actually playable.)

Say you were Generic GGG team member 1, and a week before the league launches you decide to try a blighted map on a decent PC.

It's fucked, everything is on fire, nothing works.

But what can they do? Cancel the league? Delay it?

I agree that this is probably the most broken state a league has ever been released in, but the business move from them was to release it regardless of the state then fix it later.

I would put money down to say that they did know about the problems, they probably just didn't want to put the league on emergency delay to get it ready for release.

Can't say I disagree with what you're saying. They have in fact come out and said that they DID know about (some of) the problems before launch, but weren't able to fix it in time. So they did in fact release it regardless. If they were right to do so or not, is hard to say. It would be a shit storm from "fans" regardless. I think the repercussions would be more severe if they decided to delay, both in terms of reputation and economics.

They have also come out and said that the portal spawning next to the pump IS in fact way more difficult to fix than they first thought. And I can understand that, if we isolate this league. But it IS getting tiresome that there's always something - every league, which seems to pint towards the "fact" that 3 months aren't enough time to polish a league at the current scale.

Which gives them two options: scale down the ambitions for each league, or change their schedule. What about a 2-3 weeks long flashback/race/even/whatever at the end of each league? Call it a "polish period", if you'd like.
