I find any statement saying that the game is suppose to be a hostile environment ,that everyone is an exile or a criminal and things like scams are intended, to be completely ignorant. The worst thing that can currently happen to a con artist is someone making a cry thread in the forums. If one was truly on an island full of criminals everything would be very civil in trades, because the second someone was stealing loot (party ninja) or stealing money through false services they'd be killed on the spot.

" And this is exactly how it works in games where you can kill other people on the spot, like Haven & Hearth. The pen is mightier than the sword, yet it is more permanent than a pencil.

Or, to bring this full circle, Eve Online.
I agree -- you can't use the contextual excuse of 'we're criminals in-character, we should be criminals out-of-character as well'. That's bullshit. And this is also where GGG overestimated its potential playerbase: they assumed we'd be able to be bastards to each other in-character (thus FFA and Cut-Throat) but remain civil out-of-character (in chat and on the forum). Major, major overestimation on their behalf, but I personally admire that they're such idealists sometimes. If you are scammed in this game, it is almost certainly ultimately your fault. Whether it's in not checking the item before hitting accept, or in trusting a stranger with your most prized possession...it's up to you. Should this no longer be the case, and some truly technical loophole appears wherein players can be scammed against the game's mechanics, then I will be the first person to get on GGG's case to fix things, but at this moment, 'scams' are generally nothing more than carelessness and gullibility on people's behalf. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

Personally i am not intending to mirror items, i'd rather have my own stuff so that i may play around with colors as i see fit - but i do think it is quite serious that it bypasses the mechanisms in place to protect us from scams. Just my take.
Maybe there is a better way to prevent it but as i wrote in the first post, eventually there will be innocent people getting 100% scammed off weeks of work, and it will happen only because there are gaping loopholes that allow for scams - stealing. EDIT: Now, I have never played Eve, but i would not be surprised if the whole point of that game was the creation of "society", or groupings, power bases etc, from scatch. Freedom to do all is all that game is about from what i have heard - quite a different situation than PoE, an entirely different focus of a game. If GGG wanted you to scam each other, why would they ever introduce mouseover protection for trades? Ask yourselves that. The sum of opposing arguments is that people must pay for their ignorance. These are the teachings of darkness, whatever way you present them. If guilds are to be introduced later as mentioned earlier, maybe that would help, but good rolls come to all, not just those who are in recognized guilds. " So true. That person is has very superficial mind, probably a dump person who deserves to taste the fun he talk about. On topic, i do hope no one got scammed on mirror services yet. Lets just hope only good people have mirror-worthy items for mirroring! I dislike rarity so much im almost quitting poe2. GGG.
