Reworking summoning. Removes Violent Dead, no more slamming for Zombies. Way to go.

" It's super obnoxious, too. Doesn't matter what Grinding Gear changes or improves - I had to stop myself from dancing for joy when I saw that we can Control+Scroll through stash tabs now. Nah. These folks look through the patch notes specifically and solely for whatever got nerfed and then post thousands of pages of shrieking nerdrage. "Zombie slam cooldown got nerfed! SUMMONERS LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE!!1! DX" "You...you didn't see the actual truckload of buffs and QoL improvements and stuff that summoners got in 3.8 alongside - " "NOOHHH! SLAM COOLDOWN NERF'D, LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE !!!!1!1!! DDDDDX" Absolutely ridiculous. If you can't make a super potent summoner in this league, you need remedial Path of Exile practice. To hell with zombie slam cooldowns. She/Her

Have to wait until it comes out and we play it to find out. I'm looking forward to the changes and will be playing a necro.

" Your point? It's still a thread, and post, which is kvetching like mad about the slam cooldowns while completely ignoring every single other facet of summoner improvements Grinding Gear introduced in 3.8. No accounting for the new support gems. No accounting for improved minion behavior. No accounting for improvements to the summoned critter gems themselves. No accounting for passive tree adjustments and improvements. No accounting for base minion accuracy improvements. No accounting for an entire second skillbar's worth of supporting skills, which summoners have been craving for years. No accounting for ANYTHING except "EHRMAGEHRD VYLENT DED IS GAWN! ZOMBEES LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE!" Hell with that shit. Just literally to hell with it. Best patch for summoners in pretty much ever, and all people can do is piss and moan that Zomboids can't be made to slam four times a second anymore. Nah. Don't care. Do something else this league then if you figure zombies are so damn unplayable. She/Her

" I've actually accounted for everything you say nobody has accounted for across that entire thread, and if the cooldown is being raised from 1.25s to 3.8s at gem level 20, with no hope of lowering the cooldown beyond that, it is a very large nerf regardless of everything else. That being, because it will mean mapping will be a lot slower, and require the shifting of a damage gem in-link to Melee Splash. In the low-end, on a 4L average for Map-entry level Zombie Summoner, this will hurt the most. On the high-end with a 5L and 6L, this is less of a problem, but still a large nerf comparatively to pre-Blight. In addition, their single-target damage takes a large hit as well, accounting for a loss of at least half of their Slams on any one given stationary target in favor of basic attacks that are anywhere from 50-75% weaker in damage. Funny thing to me, is a "necromancer" style summoner has probably been my most played build since PoE came out and I never felt the need to use the Violent Dead jewel. Zombies have never really been _the_ damage of a summoner build, they kill trash somewhat and keep you alive, but you summon skeletons on bosses to kill them quickly, and some sort of spectres with like GMP or whatever tends to be the sweeper. Why waste two jewel slots on zombie damage?
My first thought about the removal of this jewel without any explanation was because nobody ever used it anyway. |
