Reworking summoning. Removes Violent Dead, no more slamming for Zombies. Way to go.

You have no idea what time you lose on the slam they could have halved its base cooldown and we won't find out until they put the gem info out or more likely when we go out and test.

That isn't even really the point you could swap a link out for melee splash on zombies and they'd still do more damage post patch than they did before -_-. Zombies clear is limited by movement speed and all the summons absolutely destroy bosses unless they get melted by AoE which has been vastly reduced in likelihood.

End result is Clear > faster, bossing > faster, survivability > higher

Neither side of the discussion has a leg to stand on. Too many unknowns in this system of equations. But it's more fun to sling poo at each other than it is to be patient and see what happens.
So zombies are defensive meat shields now. Deal with it?

At least that's how I always viewed them, and used them; now with a proper meat Shield support they can finally fulfill the role at 100% accuracy.

On a more serious note, if you play Standard, this jewel is everywhere. People hoard this shit like no tomorrow. If you want brokenness, you can have my 3 copies that I haven't gotten around to vaaling, and my spare Baron and some minion damage eyes and underground rings with legacy rolls. Fast zombies, slow zombies, whatever. For best results, make sure you also install the sound mod that replaces the silent padding-about they do with the Minecraft zombie snarl.

Standard really is not all that fun. It simply lacks the loot infusion the temp league mechanics give. Which makes doing everything else .. like map sustain far less enjoyable.
Show me where the Violent Dead jewels were at all stated to be built-in to the base Zombie gem. I'll wait.

Other minions are stated to get things like an increased in cooldown recovery speed beyond gem level 20, Zombies does not have this stated.

They are stated that things were added to the base gem it self for QoL purposes, Zombies gets this, but it's HP. It's assumed by myself and a few others i've seen here and on Reddit that the 76% cooldown recovery speed is all we get from the leftovers that is the pre-Blight Ascendency node that also came with increased AoE radius for Slam (mind you, THAT was stated to be baked-in to Zombies' skill gem.)

So please, tell me where it's stated that the 224% increased recovery speed, and up to 90% increased Slam/minion damage combination, is stated to be included in to the Zombie skill gem. There's no evidence of it thus far, and nobody on GGG's Staff saying it was. It's not even in the Patch Notes, where as things such as that have been mentioned for other abilities--yet Zombies are omitted or lacking.
It is just weird. Why would they just remove them and then leave their removal down to a single off hand patch note.

They usually do not just remove something from the loot pool without at-least some sort of announcement.


It would be like tomorrow they add a patch note that removes head hunters defining stat... and that was it.

There has to be more to this.
I've never liked zombies in this game. I don't get why almost every other friggin summoned beast attacks monsters on their own just fine, but zombies refuse to go anywhere your mouse pointer isn't
