Here's an early look at the Raider Ascendancy in Path of Exile: Blight
Sorry for wall of text.
So basically they made onslaught path a little more viable. 46% Increased attack/cast speed. 54% (64% with avatar of the veil) Increased movement speed. 50% increased attack damage during onslaught and Exposure, still feels slightly underwhelming. What reason would you play Raider over Berserker, Pathfinder or Slayer? Beserker gets more DPS and better APS than Raider, Pathfinder will always be better than current Raider-style because flasks are so strong, and Slayer is better at Flicker strike than Raider. I suppose you could go Frenzy charge and onslaught path. With a conservative 7 charges, you would get 79% increased attack speed, 106% increased damage + 21% more damage, 61% Increased movement speed. Still doesn't even come close to Berserker damage. I feel like Blitz charges should have been a Raider mechanic, since its identity has always been go fast and DPS fast. Rage should stay with Berserker but could you not move blitz to Raider? Berserker having both Blitz and Rage seemed way to good. Maybe change it so instead of being gained on crit gained after you reach max frenzy charges or during onslaught? this way it doesn't become to easily accessible. As for how Raider stands currently, its going nowhere with no set idea of where you want to go. Its entire ascendancy is way to generic for a class specifically designed around melee/ranged combat. It really needs a huge overhaul considering the route your taking plays closer towards class/ascendancy identity. |

" the reason to go chase path, or even raider at all, is to get massive evasion. evasion cap (95%) to be precise. if you're playing raider and not doing this you're completely doing it wrong. to glance over this aspect is....pretty shortsighted to say the least. raider never was the best damage or attack speed. she is very lacking in any damage boost especially compared to the recent ascendancy reworks. what makes me think this is terrible for raider is the idea that this 'bandaid' number adjustment could postpone a proper rework. the thought makes me hurt on the insides |

Pretty cool especially avatar of the veil but Raider is still missing raw damage reduction still, not even a conditional one! Though that 15% exposure, its just weaker than applying regular exposure but hey its nice for multi elemental stuff. Much weaker than just 15% raw ele pen though.
Its also really nice that +1 max frenzy charge was moved from avatar of slaughter and avatar of slaughter buffed to compensate, makes non attack raiders more viable since frenzy charges and onslaught both benefit casters a bit more than attackers (based on tree, 4%/20% cast speed harder to get / more valuable than 4%/20% attack speed) |

As someone who has playing ranger, and raider almost every league since their inception I am so happy GGG decided to finally give this class a little help. These are exactly what raider needed without being over the top reworks which would not be appropriate this league.
I did not want a grossly overpowered 3.8 raider only to have get her elementalist'd in 3.9. " Style, preference and much better starting location for bow builds basically. It's so goofy to look at a 300 pound power lifter daintily fire off arrows. Raider can not feasibly compete with modern reworked classes and it probably won't without a devoted rework at this point. This is the price of constantly "updating" your game with new content. You can't possibly maintain this pace and keep quality up to standards.
Poe is getting boring and dull. Necromancer is generic now. No specializations such as zombies or skeleton nods, only generic stat boost. Raider is almost the same , uninspiring to say the least. Who cares about evasion cap in this meta ? Who the fuck is stupid enough to think to him self " hey i will cap my evasion so minions can't hit me" , 2 hours later dies on elder run due to dog shit damage. As if trash red maps can somehow threaten you with bunch of trash mobs in between you and boss that dies in 3 seconds. And even path you chose for early 4 points doesn't give you anything in terms of competing in xp/hour. I don't know man ... I would rather play other games until 4.0 comes knowing they are not wasting their time on such dog shit leagues. I wish they stop doing leagues and just leave the game for a year and come back with expansion that inspires us to play this game like we once did. Throw public founding page and you're good GGG. We will pay for 1 or 2 years of no content for you to do things properly. |

Avatar of Salughter should be changed to more multiplier. Maybe then someone would try to play Raider. In the past Raider was a go to class if you wanted "fast class". Then Pathfinder and Deadeye got buffed and took place of "fast classes". Not to mention insane 40% more attack speed for Berserk and 20% more attack speed for Gladiator in 3.7. Raider feels like slug in comparison to Berserk.

I was fairly happy with raider already so this is just a numerical buff to that. IMO the real problems with raider aren't actually associated with the ascendancy itself, its the worse health node values combined with the fact that capped evade is fantastically strong... until it isn't.

" Maybe they should make a "PoE classic" mode n addition to standard and leagues, so players could play an old-school game build without resets. I would most certainly avoid it, as the changes which keeps you away are actually keeping me in, but I am not against people playing "classic". |

These changes are underwhelming. This what GGG has come up with as a "major" rework after several months? Yikes.
She is quite weak compared to other melee ascendancies. Is she a melee class or not? Her damage is too low compared to her defense. I would have liked to see them either buff her damage or significantly improve her defense: Damage - Give her +2 frenzy charges, and better buffs per frenzy charge, or an interesting mechanic for consuming frenzy charges, so that specializing in frenzy charge generation and going Raider is actually worth it. Rather than just going Ascendant or running any humdrum melee build with Blood Rage - Onslaught increased effect is still mediocre OR Defense - She already had enough attack avoidance with her EV and Dodge. Why give her more when she needs help with damage mitigation and help with spells? - Give her a mini- Kintsugi/Arctic-Armor/Lightning Coil like mitigation mechanic would be nice - And give her some more spell defense, i.e. higher % spell dodge, or generic projectile defense to cover spell projectiles, or a way to apply % of her Dodge to Spell Dodge FFS something interesting and useful. Only people playing this class are Raider enthusiasts. Her utilization on Legion, at best, was 1.4% - and this is their major rework? |
