I need an automated trading mechanic to enjoy this game again
" This. x10^100 /everythreadeverywrittenonthistopic In fact, when you try to create a thread requesting AH, you should get a message stating: Unable to create thread. Error 404 - Design choice not found. Please view Cyzax's post history for more information. Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more. 'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league. Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave. |

Why? Its an opinion that has every right to be expressed. GGG suppressing the completely legit complaints will only hurt them.

" GGG is 'suppressing' nothing... They've openly provided their thinking, made their decisions, and that's about the end of it. They responded about the issue in their latest Q&A, and confirmed there'll be no automated trading. Really, nothing more to say about it. It's a dead issue, thus nothing worth spending their time on :-) Last edited by Cyzax#3287 on Jul 15, 2019, 9:32:44 AM

Was responding to the guy who was joking about 404.
Look at you though, standing behind GGG like a big boy, Love that. |

" Don't have any arguments against what is said, doesn't like it, attack the person! I've tried to manage an ingame economy before, and it is not easy. Thus my interest in the issue, and my recognition that GGG is doing the right thing :-) |

" Oh, come on. I'd never truly silence anyone, you know better than that. There are many topics that have never had clear answers to them from GGG themselves and as such remain valuable topics to this day. This isn't one of them. Put away the dagger. My back has no space left anyway, so don't bother. Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done. Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more. I wish you could at least set up a "shop" in your hidehout so if someone wants an item they send a request like before but instead of inviting them to your party, you grant them "shop access". With that they can come by and browse/buy whatever they want from your selection like with a NPC vendor but can't enter portals.
That way - you don't have to leave the area you're currently in - you probably sell more because people can see all what you have to offer - you keep the stuff you want to sell separate from your stash - scamming is practically a thing from the past That's a micotransaction I'd gladly spend money on... |

" That would make trade easy, which is exactly why the current system is as it is, to make sure it isn't easy thus limiting the amount of trade. |

" The current system isn't really hard except when it comes to buying the cheap stuff because many people won't answer. Trading more expensive items is easy; You can find them via the trade site and the sellers respond fast 99% of the time. So the question is, why would anyone want to make trading cheap stuff hard? |

Oh well, the 'but only a minority does trade' notion.
Yes, we heard it, yes, it's true... now turn that brain on and think as to why this is happening. Why do only a good 15% of people interact with the trade-mechanic? Do 85% not see any possible way to upgrade? Are they lacking currency? Are they in SSF? Are they turned off from interacting with such a broken mechanic? The reasons why one doesn't interact with trading are plenty. Sure nobody will use your shit if it's a disaster! Also with the same notion we can go ahead and say that Act 1 is the most important content in the game and needs to have at least 50% of dev-time focused on it. Why? Because only 50% made it further then that of the total player count! You have to take stuff into perspective, something direly lacking sadly. Also, why are some people here acting like the current trade-system is the pinnacle of trading? It's outdated, inconvenient, unintuitive and slow, a large amount of the system's downsides are detrimental and superior options are available with a bit of thought put into it. This discussion itself is a literal disaster by now wherever you look, one side wanting to automate trade completely while the other side screams around not to change anything at all, both sides utterly ridiculous. What about asynchronous trading? What about a market-NPC? What about time-limitations on receiving items? What about a limitation on trade-amounts? What about removing the API and integrating it fully into the game? There are literally endless options and adjustments available but the talk only goes in circles by the same people stating the same stuff which is either not thought through (at part from GGG at part from the players) and nothing moves forward. The fact is: Trade has issues. Those issues are existing and a concern. They need to be taken care of. Simple as that, the HOW is GGGs thing to do as the dev, people have shown the weakpoints, their job is to fix those and provide a whole system people can enjoy better then the current state. GGG balance is like getting a pizza which is burnt on the sides, raw in the middle and misses the most of the toppings.
Then upon sending it back you get a raw side, burnt middle and enough toppings to drench everything in grease. Everything fixed but still broken. |
