I need an automated trading mechanic to enjoy this game again

But hey OP, these WKs don't care about any reasonable arguments for automated trading.

No... There aren't any 'reasonable' arguments for automated trading. They're well and truly buried by GGG in their trade manifesto.

My thoughts exactly whenever I see any of your posts, so the feeling is mutual.

You, I_NO, Cyzax, Lagwin and many other WKs are the audience that GGG caters to. Basically, I expect no real QoL change since somehow even minute ones such as 6L being more visible and/or changing aesthetic for starforge/voidforge are decried by WKs like yourself.

Considering that, outside of GGG's support team for post-moderation, none of the developers post their thoughts on the feedback in the actual feedback section and instead on reddit, I feel like its pointless arguing with WKs and would rather encourage PoE players to play Last Epoch.

I hope Last Epoch ends up being a success. So far, the developers there are listening to a multitude of players, especially ones from PoE, to avoid some of the faults that PoE has...

...because the moment PoE has any true competitors, they have to respond in kind to remain competitive. It's the only way GGG will implement the QoL features that players have been asking about for years.
You need one? How selfish are you? Also, wtf is "WK?"

Actually, we're not... GGG caters mostly to the multitude of players who don't trade! They're the majority after all...
The tiny minority crying out for instant gratification can be safely ignored (and financially GGG has to).
I found one simple trick to get fast trades.

Scroll down and set minimum stock amount to 5. This way you will not get the bots that have only 1 in stock and the only purpose is to gauge prices. You will pay a bit more (maybe 1-2c more) but it's a guaranteed trade.

Seriously, try to buy divines without setting minimal stock to 5. Good luck. First 20 are bots with only 1 in stock who are not responding.

if only we could at least get an automated trading-system for currency and maps, that are offered with buyout-prices.

what the .... is the problem, if someone offers a map for 'buyout: 1 alch' and another player can purchase this automatically?

which seller leaves a map or delve for such trade-requests? ofc noone. such trades only take place, if the seller is in his hideout anyways. and that is simply the main-reason for the people complaining.

The problem is this...

- The majority of PoE players doesn't trade, only a minority does
- Ease of access to items (including currency and maps) largely define the difficulty of the game
- GGG has an aim that higher content should be difficult

Take those together, and add easy trading of consumable, and GGG would have to lower drop rates for them to maintain the difficulty for trading players. Doing that however would make the game impossible for the non-trading majority.

Summa summārum: PoE can't have an automated trading system, even for consumables.

well, i do not know (and you don't know either), if only a minority trades, but this simply doesn't matter.

don't get me wrong, but i kinda lol'd about your 2nd bullet. the content of a map should be more difficult, the higher the map is. however, if someone offers a map for buyout-purchase, another player should be able to buy this map without having to whisper and hope for a response for hours

Most players who play Path of Exile never trade. Out of the players who do trade, most only complete a few trades in a league. The subset of players who regularly trade strongly overlaps with our core reddit and forum communities. Chances are, if you're reading this, then you're one of the top 10% of players in terms of engagement with advanced systems.

chris talked about it.
