EXP LOSS POLL
The problem isn't experience loss, it's unfair, unavoidable one-shot deaths. Fix that and then the 10% loss on death is fine (I personally love it in principle).

" for me i'd rather start a boss fight or a map from begin on rather then losing 10% exp or at least i want to pick up a certain amount of my exp but thats just my opinion also i can agree on that the unavoidable one shot deaths should be fixed but before everyone starts blaming bad builds for one shots i've seen the tankiest builds got one shot and if something random is far stronger than the latest uber boss in this game something must be wrong with the balance ... In general, the XP loss penalty is fine and needed to make the game more exciting - and to REWARD players for not going full glass-cannon.
But I would appreciate it, if the game engine would recognise "Death by lag" or "Death by disconnect". This is not only a very annoying thing to experience in hardcore (as seen on streams pretty often) but also punishes softcore players for something they actually can´t control. |

" Well, I can second that. Considering the XP gain penalty at higher levels (even when running T16 maps), the flat amount of XP required to level up and the little benefit a lvl9x character gets from one more skillpoint, the 10% XP penalty is just unreasonably harsh. |

Penalty is good, but not harsh enough. Every time i'm getting 50%+ i feel incentive to not take risks and wait till lvlup. We need possibility to have negative % to counter that. deleveling would be too wonky to implement, so negative % is perfect solution.

I find problem / unfairness only when it comes to dying to the same stuff multiple times eating up 60% of my xp bar when failing the whole map.
It's not like it is common, but when hard trying at UAtziri, Shaper or UElder, it is kinda harsh and not that uncommon. I represent only myself, my own thought and believes. I am individual, not a representative of the community.
I am not speaking on behalf of someone else and I don't get offended by things that have nothing to do with me. 3.13 was the golden age. |

" Hmm...You know, you are right. We should remove penalties. But most importantly we should remove damage. I mean if enemies would not be able to kill you, it'll open so many possibilities. Sizeable amount of my playtime i want to play the game with one hand and enemies doing damage just force me to use flasks...so annoying. |

I don't like a regression mechanic like exp loss. It stops normal players from progressing their characters (which is the whole point of an rpg) and the extreme players get to 100 regardless.
Removing xp penalty wouldn't cause everyone to easily get to 100 like some people say, because most people quit their characters around 85-90 anyway and the extreme players will get 100 anyway.
