Oh, sorry, I thought that death penalty is about learning and motivating to optimize build. And it doesn't change at lvl100.
Remind me, why do we need "soft level cap" in the first place?

You would very easily find the answer to that question many times through this very thread I'm sure ( if you can read and undestand what is being said ), or in many other threads QQing about the penalty on death.

Why bother trying to get better at something, amiright ?

This perfectly describe the mentality of the people feeling entitled to everything because it's a game, who are complaining in this thread, thank you for that.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

Gear is definitely not the only problem ( neither the main problem imho, as I consider not knowing how to gear a character properly to be a different thing, as the player might not know what 'better gear' could be ).

SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

i mean stuff like shaper with a white weapon has been done before,so obviously good gear gives you more room for mistakes but thats it.
skill is even with al lthe powercreep we got more important than gear and that is actually a good thing.

Just found where I saw it, I definitely believe you.

Edit: It was in the signature of someone who joined in 2013, and his highest level character was 89. I think it's safe to assume he doesn't really know what he's talking about.
Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.

this game isnt in any way a skillbased game
but we moved more into that direction with 3.7 since framecancelation is a thing now "FOR GODS SAKE" finally

I have taken part in this fruitless and logic-less discussions for years.
The funniest in all of this is that:

A)There is bunch of people together with GGG, which says that we must have death penalty to block zerging and to punish bad builds.

B)The same group of people together with GGG dont want to remove Alt+F4 (or other similar methods to exit game) on HC, because its unfair when you die on HC due to server problems, hardware problems and so on.

Those two statements from the same group of people contradict themself.
Stop making bi*** from logic people, seriously.
Choose at least one direction of logic and stick to it, so either punish everybody equally without exceptions or dont punish anybody at all.

If you think that death penalty is OK, then explain to yourself why there is all time some thread criticising it. People are not so persitant if it wanst really annoying or broken in the first place.

Just like there was bunch of threads about removal of reflect dmg from rares. Everybody from the elitists together with GGG cried that it would break game if we removed it. Look now, they removed it some times ago and everybody forgot about it. There is no problem now and nobody cry about removal of it.
