Developer Questions and Answers

Do any of the dev team members read/watch fantasy stories with adventurer guilds in it? If so, have you ever considered bringing the concept of a "request board" to PoE (list what you want to buy/accomplish as a request/mission)? Or borrowing any other ideas from those fantasy stories (like a guild hall, guild missions, guild wars, guild blacksmith workshop)?

I'd love a "requests-driven" economy (alongside the current trade system we have now). Everyday, checking the requests board and seeing "oh, this guy in my guild wants to get this item with these rolls and is paying this much for whoever gets it" and "there are these guys looking for this specific item that I just found and this one is paying this much, that other one is paying that much, and oh this one is paying a value that I'm willing to take". And everyday, by the end of the day, I'd post as many requests for items that I want to use in the next day as my currency can pay for.

I'd also love to meet my guild mates at the guild hall, join a party with them to run a long map chain built by the guild master as a mission (maps dropped are allocated back to the guild to be used in new missions), fighting other guilds in a big map (Battle Royale!) both solo or in team (could take maps from the guild as an entrance fee), and dump my veiled items on the guild blacksmith to make crafts available to everyone there (could require maps as an additional fee to use).
Are you guys thinking about expanding the inventory at least a bit in future patches? The game has the same inventory space since the beggining, but now we have a lot more loot and currencies. A lot of people just don´t loot rares and other stuff just because its really boring (and inneficient) to have to stop every minute (or less) to go to hideout just to free space.

Thank you!

What are the most debated and disliked design decisions within the staff? (I mean, stuff that is already in the game that some would like to change.)
QUESTION 1
Spoiler
If your team, for whatever reason, could no longer work on Path of Exile and couldn't make a similar arpg. What sort of game do you think the current team would want and be well suited to make?
(If not POE, what would GGG make?)

QUESTION 2
Spoiler
More generally, how the heck does your team go about making balance changes to the game in an intelligent way given how deeply interconnected all of the game's mechanics are?

QUESTION 3
Spoiler
What is the team's most favored idea/mechanic for POE that simply would/could never be added to the game?

QUESTION 4
Spoiler
It's been obvious to me that, for quite some time, GGG has been gearing up to release a new set of 6-7 core classes which work off an entirely different passive skill tree. Given that this can neither be confirmed or denied at this point, hypothetically speaking, just how obscene is/would be such an undertaking of design and balance?

How often do you play Path of Exile in your free time, and can you play it while working?
Have you decided yet if Synthesis will be implemented into core game? Also there is so much new content coming all the time and obviously you can't implement every new league into core in the future. Are you ready to just throw away content you have spent so much time on if majority of the playerbase simply doesn't like it?
We have to use so many 3rd party programs (including trading site) to play this game decently. Trading grew even more frustrating for the player base in the past few patches. Do you planning to improve this part of the game (AH and similar ideas)?
We've been able to see some shapeshifting action in betrayal encouters. Are you re-considering to introduce shapeshifting into the game? If not as a game mechanic how about for example werewolf armour skin MTX?

Thanks.
Would you guys be interested in a 'trade post' solution for player hideouts?

The trade post would essentially be an interface for your public stash tabs. You would take stuff people are selling directly from their trade post and it would take currency from your stash. You'd of course need to have the exact price of the item bought and items without an exact price wouldn't be indexed here.

This would make it so you'd still have to gain access to the sellers hideout but buying stuff in bulk would be much easier while discouraging price fixing and still allowing people to negotiate and trade traditionally for stuff that's not as clear cut on their current value.
