Can we please stop pretending that Map drops are OK in League?
" Aim_Deep, I've read a few of your posts before where you put other people down, then proceed to talk about something not even close to resembling the topic. It's fine, its just the forums, but just thought I'd mention it in case you want to improve your communications. |

" So wait, you dont get to play an hour every day on average? So what is it then? Half an hour? So in the 30 days that the league has started you played 15 hours? You expect to hit red maps within 15 hours as a casual player? Either you live in some kind of mythical world of nostalgia, or you are one of the most entitled people I have seen yet in PoE. |

"playing since the launch of the league" and you have a single 87 character in white maps?
either you are the slowest player on the planet or you barely play the game at all. which is fine, to each their own, but you can't seriously expect to get into high endgame content by not playing the game. what it all boils down to in the end is that if you want more drops you have to kill more monsters. playing a fast build and playing efficiently helps a lot with this, as does playing more than two hours per week. regarding map drops: fill out your atlas. buy all the maps you're missing, run them all, get your completion bonus as high as possible. if you're sitting at less than 100 completion then yes, of course your map drops are going to be garbage. the people telling you that sustain is easy are all at 140+ atlas bonus, which makes a MASSIVE difference, and they're also running their maps with serious currency investment to get maximum returns. the game has all the tools you need to make map sustain work, but it is up to you to take advantage of them. if you do not do that because you are uninformed or lazy, then that's on you. |

I find map sustain to be the second worst part of the game, behind trade.
Ironically, the problems are tied together. Trade can solve map sustain, and it does, but it sucks. Personally, I dont bother trying to rely on personal map sustain, instead I just buy them all. (I also use all possible strategies for sustain, sextants, mods, pack size, etc. but only once did I actually sustain without just buying it.) |

Dude you reached not even lvl 90 in 1 month, and 10 achievements only, you're clearly not playing enough, you seem to have casual map sustain for your casual gameplay.
I literally gave away for free like 40 yellow maps from t7-t9 and some t10, because i was getting too many red maps and i had no map stash tab. Every single new league i see people complaining about map drops, and i haven't got issues with it EVER. When we say you're not playing enough, is because if you were to do 10 maps back to back, every hour, you'd for sure sustain, but i bet you just run around, afk in your HO, look items to buy or stuff like that, which is not helping you sustain anything. This is a drop from a single synthesis memory encounter: ![]() This is my map stas tab, which i bought yesterday: ![]() And it's not even impressive, but it's more than enough to sustain t14-t15 and elder t16. You have like 10 maps that are t6-t7, if you do them all, you'll have the same amount and more maps dropped, and if u wanna increase the tier, sell 3 of the same to get 1 tier higher, and complete your atlas for an increased chance of getting 2 tier higher maps. |

Yeah, complaints about map drops are more or less the biggest thing I would call BS in the community right now.
I'm a player returning after literally 3 years, I've had to relearn everything about this game in the last month, including unlearning a bunch of stuff I half remembered. I have real life obligations, I have other interests, yet I comfortably currently have a surplus of almost 150 red maps, most of which I wont even do since at this point I dont see an incentive to do maps under T15. I didnt find anything to be particularly unintuitive or onerous about this process. Are people just refusing to do the Cavas content that the current map-drop rate is clearly designed around? Are people refusing to buy maps, even just once each for completion bonus? Are people not shaping their t10 maps in order to build up a supply of red maps? Are people not using Zana prophecies? Idk what you're "supposed" to do, I refuse to watch or read guides, but the game seems to support even me just bumbling around. |
