" You need to stop. VERY few people are defending the current system. Not wanting an automated AH IS NOT defending the current system. I don't know (nor care) what YOU think will happen if everyone had access to easier and faster trade. It doesn't matter what I think either. What matters, is what GGG thinks, and they've said it pretty directly; easier/automated trade WILL force them to adjust drop rates of everything. "WHY!!?", you might ask. Because GGG have a certain threshold for how easy it should be to acquire gear at certain levels/milestones. With autmated/easier trade, access to average-good items will be easier and cheaper, (in their mind) forcing them to adjust drop rates thereafter. So yes, on some level, easier trade WILL hurt certain play styles. You can say that they're wrong to do so. You can say that you don't care, because you trade for everything anyhow. But you can't say it won't happen, because GGG was pretty direct. And for players wanting to PLAY THE GAME, and trade only when they really have to, this WILL hurt them. Again; no one in their right mind would call the current system "good". But it's still better than A LOT of the alternatives. Not for trading itself, but for the game as a whole. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

I'm pretty sure one reason for them not wanting a AH is that it would kill stash tab sales. That is their biggest seller afaik.
Now imagine a smooth AH with a "mailbox/ temporary remove only tabs". Add a mouse over tooltip for "average value" on items, letting anyone instantly see if something is worth putting up for sale or vendor junk. People would quickly get what they need, dump junk on vendors and could basically enjoy the game with a standard 4 stash tab setup without ever spending one penny. Did you hear that? That was GGG stocks almost having a heart attack. Same with no achievement/challenge points to unlock any shop points. I mean any. Would it kill them to give us like 1 point per achievement? There are 120 achievements. I got 90 done, that would be barely buy 2 premium tabs or 1 skill effect if I completed 100%, that's brutal even with only a 1:1 point ratio. They could improve so many things, add QoL just like that, and some motivational shop points for achievement points like 10:1 or even 20:1 but hellllllll no. It's all about making profit. They ain't giving you shiiiiiiiiiet nibba. Never. Even more so now that tencent plays the fiddle. |

" Humans are worse than automation on CAPTCHA challenges. Black Desert Online has tried multiple methods to prevent botting (especially on fishing) to a point where they actually implemented AFK-fishing so that normal people can leave their character for 36 hours to just fish because bots were doing it anyways. Third-party "anti-bot" is still a buzzword, no functional implementation outside of not letting people have a control of their computers is going to help. I don't like the current trading system, even though I have a really high hit-rate on trades (like 1:20 doesn't end in a trade). Currently there just isn't an alternative which would not cause people/groups with 50+ accounts to ruin all of it. Daily limits on trades? 50 accounts has more limits total than 1-2 accounts. Throttling trades per hour on an account? 50 has more hours total than 1-2. Not having enough time to grind enough currency to buy off the whole AH? Guess what the 50 bot accounts are doing and then just buying off the entire supply. Do you have a single example of a system which works somewhat decently? I do, Eve Online, except their system requires a currency system which is way more robust than ours is. |

They want you to port and to buy stash tabs all over. PC won't get shit for that reason. Same reason our MTX wont xfer.

They should just leave them as is. Current items' prices are the result of years of price fixers' influence. Of course they will instantly go down to what they should be in the first place. |
