Can we please pause the game when playing alone?
You are the one being illogical...
If you know what to do it does not matter whether you can pause the game to a blank screen or not, you will be able to do it. If I don't know what to do I'll just see a blank screen. That is skill. A pause button will not gift it to you. |

I dont think a pause function makes sense or would even work tbh.
Here is why: - You can already portal out - You can already use a logout macro Both will achieve pretty much what you want, w/o the need to implement a new feature. If there was a pause function, the following is bound to happen in my mind: Players hit pause, screens blurs or goes dark, players forget about the situation they were in moments before hitting pause while doing RL stuff, they unpause the game eventually and takes them 0.5 sec to realize/read/understand the situation they are in. Trash mobs will finish winding up their animations and obliterate the player, which would never have happened, if they player didnt pause the game in the first place. Experience tells me, that those players will start threads right here and on reddit to complain about this "shit feature" and demanding a grace period of 5 seconds upon unpausing the game, so trash mobs cant obliterate them anymore. |

It happened more than once to me that in a map I cleared the surrounding area to be able to go to the bathroom and come back to a death screen because of 1 sneaky zombie hidden behind a wall that I did not see. Or even Zana maps with only one portal, good luck portaling or logging out of there. Not to mention logout-macros are an abuse of the game mechanics yet they are always pointed to as the common solution, but a feature like pausing, that would be accessible to the whole playerbase, suddenly is considered an exploit? " So you are against it for exactly the opposite reason of the others? There's no winning here... |

Cast on Death - Portal
Progress is maintained, even if your death count is astronomical, as long as you can find 2 gem slots in your gear... |

It's nice to see how on the Diablo forums there are soooo many PoE fanboys that praise GGG and the community, then you come in here and find out that GGG is just pushing as many MTX it can possibly shove out, and the community is bunch of deluded as****es that think out-of-game macros are the pinnacle of gameplay but a pause button is absolutely game breaking.

I take it you're pretty new to ARPGs if this bothers you. No pausing has been a normal thing in a lot of games for a long time.
