Why do people hate Synthesis?
|
Hm, I can agree that Synthesis over saturates the game. Given, I don't even touch Betrayal as its not worth it in HC so I just rotate between temple/delve/synthesis.
When I said better return, I've definitely found that I get more drops in a shorter span either due to mob density or natural drop rates than I do in Alch&Go maps. With that said, I just path to some distant memories with limited thought and maybe rerun the chain if I'm feeling like it. Maybe I just feel like it's not bad as a result of playing HC and dropping Betrayal /shrug |

Because it easy for people who have never created anything of value to criticized the work of others.

" oh, sorry. you just think its the most prominent reason. i think you just want to feel mentally superior to those that don't like the league by claiming they don't like it because it requires think, and they can't think it through but you can.... ya i don't think thats the issue, chief |

" Not a min-maxer myself, but the problem isn't necessarily difficulty. Betrayal is literally broken, not functioning properly, causing long game freezes and crashing. It's not a build thing, it's a "the fukken game doesn't work" thing. That said, the fact that glass-cannon builds are completely invalidated now that you have no choice but to deal with Betrayal is ridiculous, this is the first time highly dangerous content has been made mandatory to interact with and that is not good. " The amount of thought isn't the problem, it's the fact that said effort doesn't have enough of a reward to be worth it. I like the concept of the Nexus, but in it's current state it is a chore. I understand the system, which is precisely why I don't want to bother with it anymore. And, sorry, but synthesizing items is just a fukken mess. I don't want to study, I want to play a goddam vidya game (which is why I'm currently playing something else). " Change for the sake of change is never a good idea. Nobody complained about Master changes (except for those of us who miss our Goth GF Catarina), that was change with a clear direction and purpose. This is just stapling a half-baked modular dungeon onto the game. It adds nothing of value and nothing would be lost without it. This is a buff™

" Come on, man, if you don't have anything constructive to add beyond this tripe, why even bother? I am on the fence about it for two reasons: (1) The decay mechanic that I feel is poorly implemented. Somoene mentioned it doesn't work well in many layouts (Flooded Mines, Overgrown Ruins and Moon Temple tilesets for example), and the RNG that can sometimes catch you going the wrong way and then simply kick you out before you've even started. (2) The decay mechanic is also compounded by the speed meta requirement. I have played a Storm Brand and a MS build and the enjoyment of memories is significantly higher on one than the other. Can you guess which? |

" I don't play POE to think. I play it to pew-pew. Delve let me pew pew, Betrayal broke the momentum by making me have a spreadsheet open, and Synthesis makes you completely halt what you're doing. |

I am not really into the synthesis ... only reason I do the memories is for the XP ... the gear drop hasn't been worth anything so I am vendoring it all.
I like the other aspects, such as the delve and the temple but you hardly get these instances. I haven't gotten to the betrayal with this character I am on so I can't say whether it's it worth the trouble. I think I hate the RNG thing since the instances of what I get to do and what I would like to do to progress in the game are just so random. I don't feel like I can actually steer toward an actual goal and fulfil anything in such a short time the league runs. About all I can hope for is to get to the end, and maybe some maps. |

no big loot explosions mostly. Delve and incursion had big loot splosions.
Honestly, with them bugging higher tier memories from maps, I'm a lot more satisfied. Would rather they just kept the rarity/quantity from the map that spawned it, but no more running high tier maps and getting memories with 2 mods and low quan/rarity is a big improvement. |

" Thats simply not true. Each map fragment drops a ton of stuff when cleared, more than incursions when you factor in the fractured items. Last edited by Johny_Snow#4778 on Mar 22, 2019, 1:05:32 PM

" You haven't even finished act 8 according to achievements, and your highest character is lvl 60. Please refrain from commenting on how others suck when you haven't even played the game. There's no powercreep here. Creep implies it's slow and could be overlooked, this is a full out sprint.
