Will there be a new atlas every league now?

hah, like they cared about the lab
They won't do anything. They don't give a fuck about standard, they never did, GGG keeps getting money from league players, mostly, who keep throwing hundreds of money to very expensive mtx.
Standard is doomed, the atlas reseting every three monthes and the map stash problem kills standard.

Seriously, who keeps thinking PoE is still enjoyable ?
Old players are fed up running leagues and like to play std, now it has become unplayable.

Temporary leagues are on another level; when they were little addons, like Essence, Prophecy, etc, the game was fun; but when GGG added complex mechanics league, and you can see a pattern here:
- new league announced
- people are hyped
- league starts
- people suffer the initial bugs, because GGG don't test their shit enough before release
- more bugfixes
- more bug reports on the forum
- people creating threads that the league mechanics are poorly implemented and not fun
- two weeks later, no one is playing the league

Also, you can add the fact that the devs shit on the mass, and keep developing the game towards the no-life playerbase.

Why does the GGG staff responds to questions we ask them on this official forum sporadically, but seem very active on reddit?
Is this where the elitists and streamers are? Looks like GGG nowadays only care about them. That's not how you treat well your entire customers.

I'm done, the devs, the game I knew is officially over. Gamer over man, game over.

That's my problem...

Leagues: I feel like they are often badly done betas

Standard: Gets all the trash from the leagues

so...what to play?

But so far I can still put on my blinders as long as that stash-tab-problem is fixed.

People don't get the scale of things:

Hypothesis: GGG has 100 employees. GGG pays them $30/hr.

Conclusion: It costs them $50 per minute to pay their employees.

"Hundreds of dollars" doesn't scratch the surface.

It is fixed already - it works as intended - map-stash-tab in a not an obvious name of a quarterly subscription fee.

It's good to see it demonstrated this way. It's an industry wide problem. f2p games have to either become p2w and/or sell tons of ridiculous MTX items such as the anime flashlight (borrowed from another poster) garb.

The best game to play would be from an independent company that mostly survives on a subscription model that let's them avoid p2w. Anyone know of such?

I am quite satisfied with payment model in Blizzard's Hearthstone. You can buy single cards blisters, you can buy massive, discounted bundle every 4 months (this is the same idea like in traditional collectible card games). You may not buy cards at all, because if you have time and skill you will be able to earn blisters for free or in-game currency which will allow you to buy cards packs or just forge required cards and to create efficient builds. I like that, because there is no subscription (however annual cost is comparable), so I do not have to worry if I want to play just few games per month, or I will decide to grind to the Legend. It is good, because I do not have time to spend on grinding. Buying random cards packs bundle saves me from time-wasting grinding and farming. Then, I can create a deck I believe will be the most efficient and I can concentrate on playing, testing new builds, winning and having fun.
Game mechanics which forces me to spend hours for not fascinating farming makes me annoyed, upset and finally burnout.

Have you guys seen this video with Chris Wilson at the GDC 2019? watch it closely if you've not seen it before, as it reveals a huge amount about his mindset.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pM_5S55jUzk&t=26s

He was bragging about how POE has grown since 2013 and how smart they are at understanding how the various different groups of players think about their game. He was really proud about how they understood the player retention problem with their temporary leagues and how players had "long term objectives" as well as short term. He used lots of graphs of player activity and was very proud of himself and his ability to explain what we all thought about his leagues. He even mentioned Standard as a place where players could be sure the results of their efforts were safe.

Hmmm... not sure he understands me or people like me who played Diablo 2 for 8 years. Chris' how about trying to retain the players that play Standard SSF? The ones like me who purchased a Unique Collection tab that you mentioned and boasted about in your presentation as a special way to retain players of a particular persuasion. Currently I have 472 out of the 884 possible uniques (plus unique maps that are in map tabs and a few uniques I am using) and I do see that as one of several long term objectives I have for this game.

Chris, how am I supposed to get anywhere near completing my objective (in Standard SSF, ofc) if you keep resetting the Atlas every 3 months? and wasting huge amounts of my time and in game currency? My time is limited and you keep messing up my atlas.

He even boasts about his tools team and how they invented a tool that makes it very easy to redo the Atlas and how this somehow creates a huge amount of "content" by refreshing the Atlas. He forgets about the fact that this effectively invalidates a huge amount of previous content that older players consider valuable (i.e. their red maps) and their progress towards the next level of the war between Elder and Shaper.

I'd be interested in other players opinions on how casual and insensitive he is to a large number of players he wants to "retain". Player Retention is a big part of how GGG see us, their player base, and he reveals just how little he really understands us players in all our various forms.

I was not favourably impressed by his presentation to the GDC 2019.
Every day I:
- come to this forum
- see that there are no new GGG posts addressing maps in standard
- go play another video game

No money for GGG.

The less i play, the easier to not play. Shit, i was doing uber elder prior to this disaster. Now i m only interested in chasing jun dailies for recipes. Yesterday i didnt have a map for jun, so i just sat in hideout to be available for trades. 2days ago i checked my buddy list. I dont play with others but i always seen about 5+ on most times. It a small list. First time ever yesterday, had zero people on playing......
Shitysushi - Arrow shooting build.
Sendeliriante - hollow palmer
