Diablo 3 will be a great game. And your topic confirms it. Even you, as a person who doesn't plan to play D3 is creating topic in PoE forums about 'How you are not going to play diablo' Yes, i lold. |

" Disappointed with D3. not buying it. Perm. Retired from this unforgiving land of the Exiles.

Not sure yet. I do think Bliz are struggling with it and have a strong hunch it won't be the best of breed.

" Yes it will be. Better than D1 and D2? I seriously doubt that. Right now D3 is being fed up with a Wow teaspoon. To suit to a 'broader audience' (most probably the modern warfare age group, 10 - 15 years). Kick Ass and Chew Bubblegum - That's nature for you.

That being said, I will buy a digital version of D3 because i'm a long term fan of the series.

You know whats funny there are very little to 0 posts about people who will be playing poe over on the D3 forums kinda says it all really. Poe is just another diablo clone that wants to stand aside the greatest Arpg series of all time. And think on this diablo so successful as to define the genre itself. The list of diablo like games is long but that's all they are diablo like wannabees.
Happy gaming. |

" I must say you are correct about it. I didnt see PoE vs d3, but I saw things like torchlight 2, lineage eternal, grim dawn and others. And if you say a word about torchlight 2 in a diablofans forum, you will be attacked that only stupid kids play that game, and other things similar that happen here. Also there are a lot of D3 people that create threads like this in PoE, saying PoE will suck, the d3 is coming, no one will play it.... Every big forum is same. |

" And that has nothing to do whatsoever that one game is developed by a multi-national company with upwards of 4K employees (they just fired 600 of them, though) and a boatload of marketing budget and marketing experts at their beck and call. And the other is developed by twenty indie guys. And one of those games has been a hallmark for ARPG players for 15 years while the other is relatively new. What I'm getting at: How many people are interested in a game does not necessarily tell you which game is more fun for you. It's the same with Hollywood blockbusters: They have lots of budget, they have costly CGI and whatnot. And they generally generate a lot of revenue. But there still are films done by a small crew and no budget to speak of that became great hits (or that I personally like ;-)). And I'm sure there are lots of very good films out there I haven't ever heard of because the makers had no means to tell me about them. To take this full circle: "Blizzard Game" is a self-fulfilling prophecy. The first Diablo game was unique in its day (even though the concept wasn't new in itself). It's (with Warcraft) one of the reasons Blizzard became so famous in the first place. Since then, "Blizzard Game" on your magazine cover will sell your magazine (or give PIs on the web). Which in turn makes the game more popular and "in-demand", which in turn gives it more coverage... As a newcomer to the scene you can do two things: Do something completely new, and run a high risk of falling flat. Or you can take a proven concept and try to improve it. And then you get called a "clone". Press coverage will be meagre at best. Because the press will talk about things they know will sell them copies. If you're lucky, you get a preview page while Diablo get a "16-pages in-depth article complete will all skill trees, new bikini pics of the sorceress and a 6-pages special faq for the colour-blind". Erm, i went kinda off the rails here. tl;dr: Just because many people know about something does not mean it's better than something only a few know about. 12/12/12 - the day Germany decided boys are not quite human.

@Ragnar119: didn't find anything, care to share a post to backup your argument?
@Avireyn: agreed, but it doesn't mean everyone who like the big awaited game are sheeps. It just that, maybe, the game IS actually good (wow, who thought that, so revolutionary :D) Do you want to talk about GW2 and how it may suck? (tips, it won't suck) PoE forums ignore list script:
