Of course it doesn't. Tastes are different, and who am I to declare that "Pizza is crap because I don't like it any more, and pizza-lovers are sheeple!"? (I do love my pizza, though).

But the reverse also holds true: People who think of PoE as the "better game" are not automatically "Blizzard-hating, deluded idiots who are lying to themselves and others, and will be buying D3 just like everyone else".


Our definition of what a good game entails vary, that's why there's more than one game. For me, D3 doesn't fall into "good game" territory any more. For many, many others, it still does. Fine by me, and as I said. I really hope everyone will be happy with his choice of game, because we all play to have fun. Hopefully ;-).

Actually, the only thing holding me back from advocating PoE on Diablo 3 boards is the rabid fanbase there that would say pretty much what you've just said, with very little basis and only slightly less credibility.

Saying PoE is 'just another Diablo clone' is like saying Game of Thrones is 'just another Wheel of Time clone' because they're both crazy-long epic fantasy series with quite a lot in common. Diablo is virtually a genre now -- and you can't clone a genre. You can only add to it.

And Diablo 3's addition to it has met with serious contention from long-time fans of that genre. This isn't opinion, it's fact. There are plenty of anti-D3 threads and posts even on the official D3 forums. Plenty of criticisms of D3's methods, details and various changes over the past series of patches.

With the filter on the D3 graphics are looking way better but if you compare them to Grim Dawn or Path of Excile still miles behind. Anyway to each their own. I think lots of people will try Diablo 3 out because it has the name Diablo once they find out, that it hasn't much in comon despite the name they will try something elese, I'm sure.

thats definitely just YOUR opinion because POE looks like complete shit and everyone i know agrees. and again your simple minded opinion because me being a hardcore diablo fan i think almost everything about D3 is perfect and a lot of people agree. TL2 will suck just as POE will and D3 will sell millions and millions of copies. but dont take my word for it, wait for a few months after release when everyone is still playing and they've sold over 5m copies.

You should look when people posted in them, not when they were created.

I will definitely play D3 even if it's only to experience the story and the awesome cutscenes. I'm a sucker for lore and good storylines, and D2 certainly delivered there. I am not really thrilled about what they've done to the runestone system and overall customization, but perhaps I will grow to appreciate it more once I can actually play the game. If it turns out it really hurts my enjoyment of the game there will still be PoE. :)

You are really stubborn man. Do you want me to search and give you links to posts from this year (when I was active on forum) and see how people that have 2000 posts insult, other people, or talk about TC2 and other arpgs in insulting way, and insult each other. Or even better talk about d3 changes and rage all over the forum. In last time you're only here defending d3, and saying that comunity and its members are funy and is full of trolls, like it is different in diablofans forum, or probably any big gaming forum.

I saw one of those guys on DiabloFans (something like IHaveBetaKey or something like that), a huge asshole with 1200 posts.
I didn't spend too much time on diablofans, but maybe the trolls left or the mods did their job.

But do you really think it's welcoming here?
I guess PoE is the forums for all D3 haters...
Even after a months I left, there's still the same kind of posts.
