[3.5] Fossil Farmer (Raider)

Oh my. The cost of running delve for fossils is now alot higher, and on top of that, scarabs are now much harder to get. Why are they crushing the best thing in the game, which is delve. Meh. This league is sad :(
Hey there Xnoctum.

I see you updated your path of building for 3.6!

However, https://pastebin.com/vU1w6zpw tree is incomplete! Please have a look only 42 points are allocated.

In my PoB version 1.4.134 (check update) it works. It has 103/123 points, If it doesn't work I can post it on PoE planner or I think you can see it on my profile (ArchaeologistUgly in Synthesis), but I think this build and low level fossil farming is pretty much done after patch 3.6. They reduced fossil spawns drastically even at higher depths such as 125, along with the cost of sulphite, I don't see it being sustainable.

yes, this has also been my experience and it pisses me off so much.
In the patch notes, GGG clearly states:
"
You are now less likely to find fossils at depths shallower than 58, and more likely to find fossils at deeper depths.

I don't see how it can be interpreted any other way that 1-58: less fossils than before, 59+: more fossils than before, or, at the very least, same as before on 59 and then more at whatever is defined as "deeper depths".

I devoted my league starter to farming 60-70 because I was fine with the status quo but there are barely ANY fossils in 60-70 it's ridiculous. seems a classic case of GGG overnerfing something and then actually daring not to fully disclose it. Had I know earlier the extent of the nerf, it would have been fine. I'd have started with a mapper.

Yea, im here with you, im farming 60-70 depth, wasted 10k supthite and i barely found any fossils, i lost all the will to play honestly.

I replaced the hypothermia gem with controlled destruction in abbarath boots. As gloves i use doedre's malevolence with 60% spell damage and added chaos damage.
replaced Devoto's with a scold bridle 100% spell damage
All my resistance jewels are with extra spell or cold damage.
Tooltip with all aura's is almost 11 K with gems at level 19.
Will proberly end at 12-13 K with gems on level 20 and full quality

Doing well at depth 75-82 and find a reasonable amount of fossils.
I use vaal storm call and vaal skeleton for distraction.

capable of doing rogue exiles and level III azurite monsters at depth 81 - 82 (monster level 71-72). You are bound to running and destroying because of the 400% physical damage per spent mana from scold bridle. But with the two vaal skills and abbarath fury you dont use mana.

Maybe i try to get the gems to level 21 which could result in higher depth. The density of monsters is higher in mines as it is in maps so you will doing fine with maps at monster level 73-75, Bosses are a pain on that level so skip those. At higher level maps for sulphite just run, evade and get the sulphite.

I dont care about sulphite. With high level maps, 3 fragments and scrarabs you still get a good amount of it.
Build still relevant? I am going to run 120-200 depths, just open corridors without sulfite costs.
Just tried a Delve 200. No issues survival wise, but lackluster damage wise.

Here's my current tree at 93:

Here's an easy T10 (with boss), T12 (with boss), and T16 Phoenix (I get owned by him fast).

Still a fun build. I did low delve target farming, depth 70-80 farming, and mid-100s when bored.

Still a good build for fast farming on all maps (sans rippy mods and bosses), especially for synth memory tiles. It does well up to synth memory level 80 (except for synth bosses).

Certainly did not make as much currency as Delve league, but it was still fun to play around with on a modest budget.

Cheers
