Grind doesnt even start until 94ish. You can literally never repeat a map and make 93. So don't act like it's hours of grind you lost. You lost like 2-5 red maps exp at 91.

Except this is only true for players already experienced with the game who actually know how to XP properly.

For me 88-89 already represent hours of grinding (that I haven't finished yet, i'm at ~80%), so I'm sure 93-94 will be far more time.

And guess what?

I love it.

Yes. I don't want the leveling to became quicker, and I love to face difficult content.

I just believe that an XP penalty on death is a super lazy way to create fake difficulty. Instead of providing a challenging content in itself, you punish the player if he make a little mistake in a content that, in fact, is super easy 95% of the time with some ridiculous damage spikes 5% of the time.

But yeah, I already explained while the so called skilled players probably don't want any true difficulty and you didn't bother to read the post properly last time so I have no reason to waste my time repeating it.

Yeah game is lame is that regard. Chris wilson actually said it was by design though so you can watch netflix and play at same time. Don't worry once you learn where difficulty spikes lie you'll roll to 93-95 quite easy. Main reason ppl hate this league is unpredictable difficulty spikes of syndicate members.

Sure you can die. The thing is -as frostzor27 pointed out- some players are not playing PoE for that extra stress about dying and regressing your character to the amount equal of a week playing time for a casual player.

When I die at a higher level (and I die a lot, don't you worry), after a quick curse, I usually have thoughts like this:

"Ouch, why did I do this stupid thing?"
"looks like I need a bit more chaos resist for this encounter"
"looks like I shouldn't roll minus max resists and multi projectiles in this map"
"maybe plan ahead a bit next time and move here before he does that"
"what can I change in my tree to get a bit more life and avoidance? Do I really need that +50% crit chance?"
("maybe get a better internet connection")

This keeps me motivated.

If there was no penalty for deaths, I could play braindead. What exactly would there be left to worry about? Where would you find interesting gear choices, or how would you work on a build to balance defense and offense?
What meaning would a high level have?

This. I'd never take a life node just Zerg everything and Portal cast on Death would be #1 SC spell with no penalty. Total brainless play.

I think it's funny because, the death penalty is not what is keeping me from being lvl 100, boredom and too much grinding is...

Actually Softcore is the real hardcore

You don't even lose XP when you die in Hardcore

I know you joke, but actually you do still lose xp when dying in HC, on top of being sent to Purgatory league obviously.

Exp loss for death is ok. What is NOT ok is that after change to Zana missions in 3.4 90% of the times you have only one portal. I lost Tiger boss beast because I crashed in zana mission with one portal.

I agree. Even in HC those 1 portal only maps are annoying. Those missions should still open 6 portals, even if the mission is failed when you take a portal back

Taking away the xp penantly would ruin the game and the ladder.

If you want to throw your body at something over and over and over, then play a different ARPG.

PoE is doing well because the challenge keeps people coming back, removing the challenge would make PoE just another mindless game in a sea of ARPGS.

You want to get to the top? Earn it. Otherwise try one of the dozens of other ARPGS on steam.

I don't give a sh*t about your ladder. I'd happily ruin it.

I earned that 100 $ invested in PoE by doing an actual job. In general, there is nothing to be 'earned' in video games unless it's fun to the player.
