Why am I playing Hc in SC?

Should I get a day of play wasted because of that?

Yes.

Levelling after 90 is supposed to be difficult and challenging. That's why they keep increased the amount of experience needed to reach level 100.

You're not. In hardcore leagues, your character gets booted out of the hardcore league when you die.
Losing experience when you die is the softer version of that. You might even call it 'softcore'.

Why you are playing Hardcore in Standard Core?
Well, my guess is that, that is what you chose to do. And other then that I don´t care, really. I have no more then to say GL in your HardCore.

Serious, why am I playing HC in SC?

You are misunderstanding what is HC league: after character was died in HC, he is moved from HC league to Standard. After your character was died in Betrayal league, he is losing 10% of experience and is not moving into Standard league. Therefore, you are not playing "HC is SC", you are just playing "SC", or, simply, normal mode.

If I was not supposed to die, I'd go play HC.

This is gold. Next time someone need to came out with another gold like "my character is supposed to kill all bosses with 1 hit but this is not happening, fix your game ASAP!!!11".

No one cares what you supposed your character to do - this is only your problem and not the game's problem. The only thing which need to be changed is your attitude to the game, not the game itself.

There is good reason for 10% penalty - it's to challenge players to overcome. Many like it and many hate it because there are basically two types of people in this world winners who overcome obstacles and whiners who want world to change around them. Can't please everyone.

I don't like 10% penalty myself but for very different reasons. Mainly because it allows zerging bosses after you clip next level. I'd make it you lose a level on death in softcore. But I don't lobby I play with game as is.

People who complain about the penalty are almost always extremely narrow minded. Once you get to a place where it actually matters(level 95+) you'll get much bigger mileage from farming currency and upgrading your gear than from 1-2 skill points. Of course in their minds its not like this because they actually lose something, cant lose anything from farming.

Its all a matter of perspective.

Having an exp penalty on death doesn't challenge anyone to overcome anything.

It push logicals peoples to just play safely, either by playing in lower level maps or by stacking "too much" defense until they are litterally immortals.

Then at some point they don't care about leveling more, so they don't care about dying anymore, so your supposed challenge doesn't exist at all in the game anymore.

The only real way to make a logical link between how much a boss is difficult to kill and the importance of dying is to make the boss reset as soon as you die, becaming full life again.

That way you get ride of this non-sense that "trying harder content will make you loose progression", and you ensure that to kill a boss, the player must really have mastered the strategy and have enough defense on his char, or else he will simply not be able to kill it.

In the current situation he can just attack him six times in a row until sooner or later the boss will die even with five player deaths before it.

But of course, considering most peoples defending the XP penalty are experienced players who can easily reach the point where loosing XP doesn't matter anymore...

That's easier for them to look down on newbies who struggle against this mechanic while they are not affected by it in the slighest, rather than thinking about something that would make the boss actually really challenging for anyone, including themself.
I think you nailed the problem right on the head. New players are mostly the ones complaining about the penalty because they are still in the process of understanding how their time is properly spent. As I said after certain point the time you spend making currency >>>>>>>>>> the time you spend leveling up.

Lets say you make an exalt an hour and advance 10% towards the next level for the same time. Is that skill point going to be worth 10 exalts to you? I am sure in 99.9% of the cases those exalts will be much better so losing on that skill point wont matter as much.

In the 0.01% case where the skill point is indeed better than the 10 exalts your gear will be so good you wont be dying anyway.

Don't worry guys, Diablo Immortal should be out soon for you to go play.
If I remember correctly, Level 100 still is and should be an accomplishment. Its not something you really need but something you actually want.
So there is a Penalty for it to make it harder, because if there wasnt everyone eventually would get level 100.

Yeah Pure Breachstones Bla Bla Bla. People are so whiney about stuff, its incredible. Level 100 is easy.

Yeah? As I see all the people complaining dont have a Level 100.
I hope they increase the penalty so its get more challenging
