Don't nerf Syndicate encounters
Not sure where you get this idea that most other games are slower than PoE. Maybe really old ones like the first Diablo or Baldur's Gate, but it's been quite a while since ARPGs could get away with that sluggish pace. Most of the rest of it is baseless "no u" nonsense, so I'm not going to bother with it, but as for Enfeeble, yeah, that "may" help, but then your argument becomes, "everyone has to be a meta slave and play identically." No, thanks.
Punishing difficulty can be fun and I've played my share of games which feature it, but when that game is balanced around trading with other players and suffers from shit drop rates as a result (such as during Invasion), it's a no-go. That nostalgia you have is blinding you to how awful the game state was back then, and there's a good reason GGG softened the game up as much as they did, even if you think it was "selling out." Most of the "difficulty" offered with syndicates has nothing to do with strategy, it's just inflated numbers and cheese. That's why people don't find it fun and complain about it. Just remember: "Weeding out" players is how you kill your game. Tired of trolls? Ignore them.

I said it "may" help. I'm actually doubtful. The problem is they have too much health AND do too much damage. Why? Bad balance. Their stats are simply inflated. If you honestly expect everyone to run Enfeeble to survive, that is a keynote warning that the balance is bad.

The biggest issue is that Safehouse encounters with the bosses are pretty fine in my experience. However, the encounters with the added monsters (and in fact the lead up to the safehouse) are much worse. This leads me to think that the issue may not be with Masters on the whole (It That Follows does deal a lot of chaos damage), but with the minions that get summoned.
Adjust them and I believe GGG is 90% of the way done. |

Thats true. The added clutter is confusing, causes stuttering and brings extremely dangerous auras to already hard encounters. I have no idea why they decided to include adds with characters who are already much much stronger than the poor rogue exiles.
