" i mean, things would generally be better if the less rich people in society had more money, but the real-world economy isn't the PoE economy ;) point being your weird metaphor isn't clarifying anything, and is in fact masking your argument. |

" wat? autopickup means: you get currency while walking. my example is: you get currency while walking. where was that too abstract? anyway, if everyone has more, then noone has more. its called inflation. in real life it can be a good thing. but what you suggest is an inflation only on the "cheap currency". or in other words: the higher value currency gets more expensive. or in other words: the poor get poorer, the rich get richer. so unless you have 100ex+ one week into the league, you will really not want autopickup. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0g9KEmUsYxE take three minutes. and after that, take your three minutes to appreciate that the speedrunners and windrippers dont pickup the low shit. and then take a minute to appreciate that you can buy an ex with your low currency. because its still worth something. https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/exchange/Delve/woYagQUb it seems you dont understand that money is a relativistic system. meaning you have to put your worth into perspective to the complete worth of the whole economic system. and it will grow in numbers with auto pickup. that means you are worth less then, unless you run more maps per hour, more hours per day. You don't need to condescend to me about how inflation works, but your explanation has come the closest to making sense.
I think I'm beginning to understand the argument, but it still doesn't make sense to me. Even with autopickup of orbs, you still have to walk over to where the orb is, and that seems to be the bigger use of time, not necessarily clicking on it... or is that simply not true? |

" If you are walking down the street and it's littered with .50 cent pieces you wouldn't stop to pick them up? That's where your example fails IMO. You would pick up those pieces yourself anyway. If instead of stooping over to pick up the piece you could just step on it and have it jump into your pocket how would that be all the bad things you keep saying? I just don't get it. I suppose the concern is all of those people who don't think picking up .50 cent pieces is worth their time. If you give them the ability to very easily pick up those pieces then they would start doing it, right? Maybe that is bad. I dunno. " One of the points I'm trying to make is that there's two things being conflated: the need to bend over to pick up the piece AND the need to walk near it in the first place. |

" no. the point is picking it up or not. the point is that many people dont. the point is that (quant) speed farmers dont. the point is, that if they would, due to auto pickup, they would flood the market with low currency. they would sell ridiculous amounts every hour. the point is that, as numbers in a market increase, value decreases. the point is that the average player is not a full quant speedfarmer running full sextant elder burials 14 hours a day with party bonus. the point is that an average player doesnt drop multiple ex every day. the point is that players of 60-120 minutes per day have to make a living of their low currency. pro-tip: go https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=how+inflation+works Unknown rule type: SetFondSize
