"Incursion was a successful league."

You can't really link a player retention graph this league... Chris Wilson said it was a problem after a few weeks and that's why they added a mechanic like Delve

Now link the graph for those that don't use steam to play PoE.

Oh wait you can't.

Duh. Unless GGG releases their stats on total players (and they never do) there is no way to tell the ratio of steam players to non-steam players. I'm pretty sure all streamers and veteran players use the stand alone PoE client (I do).

The point is without all the information given to us, this thread, let alone this graph is pointless.

It's official, almost 2/3 of players are on Steam

Peak day 1 concurrency of 140k according to Chris.

Steam charts show 89k for the same day.

63% of players use the Steam client.

So no more of that "Steam charts aren't representative" bullshit please, kthx.

Sorry guys buy burden of proof is not on OP
He already provided valid evidence

Except nothing he posted was constructive or valid to his argument(cause he doesn't have one).

Success in relation to what, last league? The league before that?

Burden of proof is on the person who makes the claim.

I do use standalone launcher for both poe and warframe,i just see only speculations support your claims while op got actual data.

No, he has half the data. The half that is publicly available.

You don't know if steam makes up half the players, or 2% of the players for this same period of time. That graph could be saying steam users have a lower retention, but that isn't his argument(he doesn't have one).

Edit-

You linked a post of yourself that shows peak day users for the first day with zero explanation on what you're trying to prove. Congratulations.

What does this number actually tell you? Does it tell you how many new players there are, does it tell you how many client only players are still playing?

If you want to back up OP's claim, post all of the data for the same period shown in the steam chart and we can actually compare some numbers.

Show me how much money they made this league.
People have been using charts like that to say "gam is ded" for years, now. Me, I don't really care terribly much about economies or partying, so as long as the servers stay up, I'm content. Obviously, would love a reversion to slower, more tactical gameplay, but the chances of that happening are low enough that I never hope for it.

I disagree with this. Unless you imply that non steam users somehow is very different people from the steam users.

With the amount of users on steam it still draws a pretty acurate picture of the entire playerbase.

All the OP had to do was click that little '1y' button and their argument would be dead in the water.

What argument?
As long as GGG doesn't define numerical objectives, or quantifies success, you can't argue their point with statistics.

The OP has deliberately selected an arbitrary measure of success (one that GGG has not agreed is their measuring stick) and then used their own definition to claim victory.

How do you know that their measure of success isn't some other metric? Perhaps it is total $$$ generated in MTX sales, or employee turnover, or customer satisfaction, or number of bugs, or something else?

The OP is a prophet of doom, and will only be satisfied if their own dismal weltanschauung is validated.
