There's no good ARPG's vs poe.

Loot system and item system you won't find any like PoE for the good and the bad. The combat in D3 feels better imo and the performance it's MUCH better and that's a fact, not imo.

not disagreeing but what is the point when you can do everything in a week of semi casual play? After that all you are left with is endless scaling of identical content/items. I'd rather try and get d1 working, more play hours in that. (the getting it working I mean lol)

Progression in D3 sucks indeed, that might be the only reason why i don't play it as much anymore. No trading is good and bad at the same time.

I mean though, even though D3 was identical item find progression, at least it's some progression. Unless you gimp yourself and play SSF, you'll have pretty much no item progression once you purchase your gear in Path of Exile.

You don't look at loot in Path of Exile, you just grind currency to either make or buy the stuff people have made for any kind of progression. It's no wonder everyone get bored and quit one month into the league. ARPG that doesn't have loot progression is quite boring.

But that is what trade gets us. Terrible drop rates, easy gear purchase and then zero gear progression unless you want to grind out 100ex of BIS upgrades that you don't find, but purchase.

Try Wizard of Legend. It’s a rogue lite but the combat is in the arpg style and so good.

I was actually talking about difficulty progression more than the items although tehse are the mayor issue. Once you get your 6 set piece bonus you just from T3 to T13 in a blink, GR10 to 70. Getting Ancient items with the right stats on all slots can still take a week or more but after that it becomes like poe where you are just lookin for small upgrades and the right RNG combination. I don't think that's necesarily bad D3 after RoS expansion was imo a good game. Eventually it gets boring like anything you play over and over. That's why PoE with different league mechanics and complex item/loot/crafting system has imo an edge over others.

As said, in the loot hunt aspect PoE is the king, in the Hack 'n' Slash aspect D3 is still vastly superior.

Path of Exile starts off strong but the story is kind of lame. It does have the best currency/crafting system ever implemented in an arpg, but I wish there were more unique items that were insane. Diablo 3 has pretty fun skills, but needs an awesome skill tree like PoE. Most other argps are boring/too childish/not completed. I just hope Diablo 4 is as legendary as Diablo 2.

You're not wrong OP. There are no other good ARPG's. Wolcen and Last Epoch are both years away from being relevant and by then path of exile should be even better. Grim dawn is a single player game coming up on its 2nd expansion that doesn't even have full item combinations for all the classes in the original game. Diablo 3 is Diablo 3 and was a disappointment to a lot of the players currently playing POE for many reasons. Expecting them to correct all their failings in Diablo 4 is a dream.

POE has random custom maps. POE has the shaper/elder/atziri/guardians and uber versions for endgame. POE has labyrinth as an additional part of the endgame. POE has how many build and item combinations? The likelihood that a game comes out and is even competitive with POE right now is stupid low. POE would have to chain fuck ups after fuck ups for another arpg to even have a chance. Right now the ARPG genre is POE's to lose.

Bullshit. Currency is loot too. Once you start seeing currency as small pieces of gear that you can steadily work towards it becomes alot more enjoyable. Ofcourse you will have to dodge the general population here that can't make a chaos an hour, and hate anyone who can.

It doesn't need all that though if it focuses on having good GAMEPLAY. It just needs to be better loot system than D3.

New updated engine should be able to pwn the gameplay from Path of Exile. With power creep now there isn't any counter-play. Just loot busting.

That's funny. Considering mapping gear is cheap and you'll buy that as soon as you hit level, you'll be needing hundreds of hours of currency farming to afford upgrades for your gear.

It's not about that, it's about fun. Looking at loot and getting excited about it. These games are supposed to be about progression, progression mostly in the form of item upgrades. Oh man, a Chaos orb just dropped. Let me check it's stats and see if it's any good. Oh wait, just need 720 more of these and I can buy a 10 exalted upgrade for one of my slots. Much fun.

Ya, it is fun. And how is that not progression?

You get progression every time a 6S drops. Every jeweller, every crappy rare that becomes Alts or Alchs.

Am I the only one who enjoys saving currency and trading for a nice piece of equipment?

I don't get excited to find a good piece of gear *because I can use it*, I get excited if *i can sell it* and get rich! Then I can buy whatever I want...
