There's no good ARPG's vs poe.

Poe is light years ahead of anything that i can find. Competing with poe seems like a insurmountable task. So much content, so much time developing, big team working away steadily for a long time now. Time will tell...

GD is stunningly impressive, and in many aspects overshadows Poe.
Mostly less tech issues (better engine optimization), amazing itemization, ingame balance, adequate speed, smooth progression, lore, presence of RPG elements.

But it's a single player game with no economy, no "always online" features, no emphasis on competitiveness.
Whoever's looking for these elements, will inevitably find PoE better.

If it's strictly about an online economy-centred aRPG, PoE is king.

D2 still plays relatively fresh - I play it when have only potato notebook on vacation.
1) Median XL mod for D2 is pretty good to sink a few hundred filler hours in. They are in the process of working on the Sigma mod which will rewrite a lot of the D2 core engine. When that comes out, I anticipate that it'll eat up a ton of my time.
2) Now and then I go back and play Torchlight II - Synergies mod. Also usually kills a while for me.
3) GD is pretty good as well. It does initially feel like TQ as Charan said but it has a good amount of depth itself if you stick it through.

I'd really like to like GD, but I don't.
Tried it with friends, tried it solo a bit. I'm not even sure what I don't like about it. Maybe I'd react to PoE the same if I started playing now.

The whole hobby has gone to shit since the consoles came out. We get two or three really good games a year now, if we're lucky. 2017 didn't have anything for me, nor has 2018 yet.

There is probably indeed no game aRPG as deep, captivating, interesting with as much freedom as PoE, but noone stops you from just playing good games of other genres. I haven't played much other games in past years, so I have a lot to play. :p I hope one day I will get to play all games from my list. :/

After D2 Torchlight 2 is best ARPG I ever played. Play with friend and once you start hunt Boris, skulls like Riechliu etc. I believe you will enjoy game a lot.

PoE maps is played like ARPG, but overall game feels like MMORPG based game. Maybe check out MMORPG games, I believe players who like PoE will enjoy MMORPG more than another ARPG.

Median XL is awesome!

I'm playing Tales of Maj'Eyal on Steam at the moment. I guess only Charan might like it though (it's very oldschoolish and has poor graphics)
