I'm far from a very good player, and I'm playing a self-cast Freezing Pulse builds. Not META, not "flavor of the month" by any means, and I'm not having trouble at all with the timer. Had a little bit of trouble from maybe level 1 to 40, but after that it was pretty smooth.

The problem is you are playing a clear speed build.. I do too! A wander! But if I wanna do incursions I cant make a strong build that doesnt focus on clear speed! So saying it's not meta is like shooting yourself in the foot. incursion meta IS clearspeed.

More movement speed like someone say

I still dont see how movepseed is supposed to be meta. Its one of the most retarded idea ever. You are right, but it is wrong...

skipping them all together doesn't seem to have a penalty attached to it, nor an advantage.

You get at least 1-2 chaos recipe in loot drop extra per incursions.... 20-30 second for 2-6 chaos. Im not sure where you see it coming out even.

Chaos value is based on how easy/hard it is to aquire in a league... I can tell you that 150 chaos for 1 ex is not going to be a myth. Here the big loss for ppl who skip it.

Blade Vortex insta kill packs of mobs.

If you're playing a super great build ...you wont find much, if any, issues with the league.
If you play anything even remotely normal or subpar ....it's like bestiary all over again x10.

They need to sort out that disparity ASAP.
Stones should be a 100% drop off of architects, that way even the stupidest build can at least upgrade a room and open a door; even if they get nothing from the actual incursion itself as far as drops go.

^^^^^^ This ^^^^^^
Im finding I have to limit myself in my build to play this league to even be part of the mechanics. This is completely stupid. Im glad I like wanders but I find it sad I cant use it's farm to make a interesting and fun character.

no, recognizing what build works well for that content is part of "getting good"

Lot, getting good.... From someone who follow a meta that involve using about 5-6 possible skill trees and say you need to shield charge. ITs not adapting.. Its LIMITING! Know your terms. I dont shed tears for the ignorant either.

It's the combination of the timer, serious lag, and regular crashes that make Incursion unplayable.

Some rooms are worse than others. The pools of restoration are horrible. I've had my frame rate drop to less than one in that water.

I've also had at least four client crashes while in incursions or temple, mostly the temple.

GGG needs to quit hiring inexperienced people and start hiring people who know what the heck they are doing. It amazes me when they advertise for employees and want two years experience or whatever. Some of these people they talk about hiring have no experience whatsoever. Make it twenty years, not two years. Better yet, make it thirty years experience.

GGG needs to fix the fucking game.

This ^^^^^. The problem is how GGG hire ppl that dont know how to program and test for 1 type of machine.. So it's kinda like skill tree. If you dont play meta or buy "meta" computers. You have issue with the game. So pathetic. Yeah, being a sheep that buy the same parts for computer because they were advertised and paid for in paid benchmark is what end up working because they even pay gaming/software companies to program to work with them and use coding that end up being bad for other brands. (Yes, read about it.. Its very "Meta" is that kind of idiotic word can explain to you how the market work.)

to further show this.. I am fine playing the game and have no problems, but some incursion are sick and this league I dont know what they do to Channel map but I 50% of time get kicked during the first 1 or 2 loading of the map... So I dont even do it anymore. (Btw, Cpu never go over 30-45%... Usualy sit at 35%)

Do you keep the floppy disk in the drive while you play?
It's balanced pretty well. There are those frustrating times where you die as soon as you log in thanks to the vaal buttholes (the ones that shoot chaos damage), and ALAS it always seems like the layout is the worst possible to upgrade to tier III room.... why does it take me 13+ seconds to cross the room???

But overall you achieve success through careful planning, just like everything else. And some builds also are not optimal at clearing at high speeds.
I dont understand the hate. Incursion is fun, and the only reason people cant clear incursions is lack of skill in my opinion. Any build can clear them once mapping, unless you are purposely gimping yourself to prove a point. The only moderately hard part of incursions is t14+ architects in maps with mods that slow your particular build down.
Hey guys,

Soo... I want to point something out that I really didn't consider until reading all the posts here.

Alva will stop showing up in areas < 10 levels below you. The exception to this is Act 10 Kitava where she will start to only show up in 60+ areas (Tested by running through areas with my 81).

I can clear a level 60 incursion with like 10-30 seconds remaining with getting the arch, door, and full clear (with my 81 split arrow build (mind you, not that impressive)). This designs the temple however I want since I can full clear every time. Level 3 rooms every time for gems, maps, weapons, ect.. Then you go to the temple and it is level 68 with no timer, you can go as fast or slow as you like at this point.

-> I was under the impression that these incursions were to be DPS checks, coming into this league. That they were meant to be done in the zones that you are actively leveling in, but they are not.<-

As mentioned by someone prior, if you can't clear an incursion go to a lower level one. You are limited by 10 levels until you get to maps, in which case you can re-roll the level 63 Quarry (In act 9) 11 times and get a temple up in like 15-20 mins.

These full clears also drop a lot of loot, which makes up for the time-sink.

While I hate shaunika90's responses, one response keeps ringing true in my mind...

Incursions and the temple itself are very profitable

I mean...I guess? I've made sweet fuck all but some small currency.

you're doing it wrong then :P

^I was doing it wrong, I needed to go Low Risk/High Reward, as outlined above.

Side Note: I play Hardcore Incursion, it is not worth the risk of walking in an incursion of my own level to get swarmed, shot, one-shot or rng'ed in any other form. I have yet to die in the temple or incursion but there were a few incursions that I went in that were the same level as me that almost killed me. A few times I considered if "Allies cannot be slain" was a mod on one of the rares near the entrance, my character would be dead.

My theory: They don't intend on making it available in Acts... it's stuck in their just for the league and they didn't waste time trying to make it fit. So it's too hard at first, and too easy for many builds. They balanced it around end-game play and we'll only see it in maps as Zana mod or as an infrequent spawn.

Take it with a grain of salt though, since it's not my call.

I was actually hoping it would get a bit of a balance shift and make it into the core game. I really enjoy tweaking the temple during the incursions and they're a fun distraction during the Acts. It's also very early "mapping" which I thought was neat and fun, and the loot boosts during leveling were very helpful for me. I do feel that you need a really fast killing build to successfully shape your temple. That's one part of the "balance shift" that I think is necessary. Other than that I'm actually enjoying this league.

At this point i think i would enjoy incursion league much more if it would be possible to have real impact on temple. Right now, excluding moments when i run tier 15-16 maps i don't find it worth my time to even check what options are given to me when it comes to room upgrade.
System is too unpredictable to be worth extra time you need to check effect and possible roads to unlock. I tried to upgrade corruption/gem room to tier III and i failed not due to lack of skill or bad build, i failed to RNG too many times to bother with temple anymore.
All i do now is just enter incursion, kill most mobs as fast as possible so i can start next map.
When temple is ready to unlock, i enter and immediately leave.

My opinion is that the loot is TOO good during the Acts to keep it in the game as is. I have noticed it more as I've started a second character (meta central on character #2) and significant success in an Incursion and Temple leads to way too much good loot. As such I would have to agree with Shags that it will be late game/maps.

I sure hope it is not a Zana mod though, I hate when they do that.
