I also think you could be a little nicer at times, I_NO. I think it would go a long way with folks on forums. It's not about your opinions, they are valuable as someone with a lot of experience. It's about the way you often express them.

I'm working on it myself as well all the time. Sometimes people say I come across as condescending. It's feedback I can use to better express myself in the future.

What I'm saying is that it's okay to admit to having flaws, I hate that word, features, it builds character. ;)

Xavathos gets it. I'll piggyback onto that by saying the end result is for GGG to buff enemies/bosses pretty drastically, thus making shaper/elder items mandatory for all. This devalues most of the content and gear in the game, a trend which is already problematic given the legions of vendor-trash uniques and skill gems. Stuff in a game should have a purpose, otherwise it's just an inconvenience for the players to bat away while they're trying to play the "real" content. Also, I worked and stressed really hard for my gear!

I suppose I should be looking forward to prices going down in Standard for, like, everything. I mean they go down over time as a rule already, but even more so and for rarer/better items.

Perfectly describes my concerns. Often is it brushed off as if I'm complaining about too much power, but that's not it. I just care about the long term well being of my favourite game ever.

If personal sacrifices are required to better the game, I will do so. Which should be more than apparent from my list of supporter packs. (No you can't see them all)

Too much power ?! What's this ?!

The CI and ES is not playing because they sacrifice their time, money and efforts for 2-3 years to go to a build which so-so works, and now they can not run even T8 maps.
That's a joke. This is not a sustainable game anymore. It's a joke.

I've killed Shaper effortlessly with a pure ES build with "only" 8k ES, mediocre gear, after the nerf. Surprise! You don't need 20k ES. You also don't need the 10 million DPS we're given in this patch.

It's not the main problem though. That remains the sheer devaluation of almost every item prior to 3.1.

Remember WoW Outland greens anyone, just after TBC hit? Months you spent on those lvl 60 epics, trumped and trampled by a quest reward.

But WoW progression is all about levels and a higher cap means better gear at that level. It makes sense. Does that really work in the PoE setting though?

Just think of the new rare helmet with 2 lvl 18 gems in it. Now look at Bringer of Rain and remember that you can use a 6-9L chest with the rare as well. What do you think?

3) No DEFENSES: 99% of the new ultra powerfull shit seems to be around offense AGAIN. PLayer damage was and still is a far bigger problem than instant leech ever was. Instead of addressing the issue and buffing defenses, making them more worthwhile to invest, they widened the gap even more.

I understand if these new mods are to "warm up" the playerbase for new, far harder and demanding content to come in the future, but in terms of balance, the above are very prevalent.


You made good points. GGG hated pure phy build for reasons. But there is more.

1) Flat damage. Now even more. It doesn't take a genious to see how flat damage is bad, as it favor single hander fast attack weapons.
The balance of weapon in ARPG has always been
-High weapon base damage-slower attack
-Low weapon base damage-faster attack
-2 hander-more damage than 1 hander
Flat damage destroy that balance. A high attack speed weapon with low damage (with same base DPS as a slower attack speed high base damage weapon) outperform in actual DPS by miles.
D3 has infinite difficulty scaling, so at least the power creep make sense in that you can take even harder contents.

In a game like PoE with hard mob level cap, more power creep is far more silly.

I still stand behind an idea, to make these items simply corrupted. This way, people won't be fiddling with prices and rarity, due to excessive chaos spam and many would actually start playing this game, to "farm" these items, not farm currency like they do know. Bad roll? Yeah, bad luck, try again. Every high-end gear in online games are non-craftable..why POE have them? Especially with such a big power level leap.

Chaos orb is already at 3 alch per one..A few days ago, it was 7 per one. This indicates, that people started crafting and chaos spamming these elder/shaper items in Abyss league too.

And we are only week in League..Can you imagine what will happen within a month, if nothing will be done to fix this problem?
