youve trashed the game

After leagues of 2-3 days in league shaper kills and mapping and ladder race with support guardians with white wand wanders clearing maps in 30s, I am very happy I have some sort of "chase" items which will last me a whole league to theorycraft, chase and build around...

instead of being done with a league 2 weeks in.

The problem is, how you obtain those items. A logical step would be to corrupt these elder/shape items, so you would keep "chasing" the perfect roll, which will lead to more hours played in League. This is an absolute standard of any loot based video game if we are talking about powerful and end game gear. Now, you find base (or most likely buy it) and start farming currency, to chaos spam the living shit out it. We are not chasing drops, we are farming.

One could say that you don't need to chaos spam it, but simply keep looking for good roll.
But why? Why you would do that, if you can completely change roll (ergo drop new item) by one chaos orb.

95% of these items are fine? I disagree..

Problem is: these items are not expanding the game. They do not give MORE options. They give better options. And this just moves the goalpost.

Right now you need 6link to comfortably farm endgame. In 3 months we will need 8.

Rare will be just as rare. Only numbers will change. Thats the sad joke about power creep. It changes nothing in the long run yet destroys every bit of finesee game had. It is all dwarfed by godzillions of damage

Next big thing: uniques. Most of non-bis uniqies got irrelevant overnight. Surrender. Aegis. Most 1h weapons.

Im fine with new mods and expanding the rare item viability. But there are much better ways than force feeding peoplw this stuff. Oh look this new item is twice as good as any vanila rare youll find ever. This is not healthy. It is reckless and brutal way of forcing people into playing in certain way.

And that extra damage mod is just crazy.. even local one is strong. But global?..4% es on block is also rather questionable.

Most revolutions fail because people fight AGAINST something not FOR something. And once they win they do not know what to do. This huge itemization change looks the same..

You'd have to roll a god tier shield to outdo the Surrender.

I would say that I think its correct that you have the potential to beat a fixed stat unique like surrender with a heavily rng rare item, and if its stupidly rare verging on impossible for most people than that is also a correct game state. Im happy that weve got to this point.

I just want to know if theres 3 to 4 free damage auras for a fake dual wield physical to ele conversion build wheres the 3 to 4 free auras worth of damage for shield builds, 2h builds and non fake dual wield builds scaling damage in pure phys, flat elemental and conversion? If they dont exist can a dev from GGG explain to us the theory of doubling or tripling the damage potential of the builds that can use the current 8 link items and 3 free damage auras and not all the other builds in the game? Was phys to ele conversion fake dual wield doing half to a third of the damage of other options like pure physical 2h and hence they needed the buff? Wheres the evidence of that? Were minions, traps, mines etc who can make best use of 8 link hats singled out as being in need of gross damage buffs compared to marauders running around with 2h physical maces?

Anyone from GGG care to wade in on that topic and set us straight on the reason these mods now exist and how you guys are expecting it to impact the balance of damage scaling mechanics and skills? Cause you do actually play the game, you know it inside out, you have a vision for how the things you add are going to effect overall balance and you are using that intelligently to better the game right? Gonna give us an insight into that vision and how these mods help further it?

Abyss jewels, you can buy 1c crit attack 4 stat jewels all day right? Cant find a 2h RT 4 stat good jewel on the market to save my life. Acc, CC, Crit multi, attack speed if Ive crit recently. No attack speed if I havent crit recently, no extended list of stats to buff my damage if I dont crit or need accuracy at all. Flat ele damage to attacks, can get an absolute shitload of it, can probably get over 1/3 of my 1h weapons onboard ele damage on a single jewel that still has life. Physical, esp physical 2h, can maybe get about 1% of my weapons damage on a jewel? Far less stats on the jewels to get so virtually impossible to get a life + tri damage jewel for an RT phys 2h build but theres jewels all day for crit and flat ele.

I presume this is design again ya? thought has been put into this at GGG, its intentional because uve singled out that 1h crit attackers and fast aps flat damage ele builds need a damage buff and something like 2h phys RT doesnt? Is this because 50k dps 2h marohi groundslammers were dominating the meta in the last few leagues and 600k dps crit frostbladers were just lagging so far behind?
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

thats global? so 2 hatred auras....

8 link items, potentially 10 links, with the potential for a statstick offhand with 150% of physical as extra elemental?

People make comments about withdrawing support because of this or that balance change and whatever, and usually its nonsense. But for me this has just ended me taking this game seriously at all, I invested all this time and money into a serious game, youve completely fucked your game, you do realise that right? This is a complete and utter joke, wtf were you thinking?

well done, you had an amazing game that for all its ups and downs went for what? 5 years? and managed to maintain a serious level of credibility, and youve just completely fucked it up.

stop playing and give me passwords to ur account, ty.
PM ME on forums if i win ;)
I don't care if they have this... BUT... you can't balance your game around the presumption that people have access to it. Showcase items can exist in a game without ruining it. What ruins it is if the game starts assuming you have them.

That's the problem with GGG. They see-saw back and forth from "good guy GGG" giving us crap like these items, and "Bad guy GGG" which makes the game challenging for these players. That dichotomy leaves most of your players in a no-man's land of "what the fuck about me?"
They just reverted back two years.

But instead of the high-top-end chase items having a golden name, it's yellow now.

These things are the new 70exalt + shavs drops from that era and people are so hyped that they forgot that those items where only for the very select few to have.
I'm waiting for this realization to settle in on most of the community.

Crafting these will be locked behind top-end pay-walls and the new power level achieved will ridicule GGG and their "end-game" efforts.

And i don't think i have to explain how GGG will respond to that in the long run eh.

And here i was quite happy that the new support gems provided directional utility and not a more% multiplier :-D

Peace,

Ok, so the item on screen is OP, so do some rares and mirror, but it's like winning a lottery. 99.9% of items are crap, whether is regular, unique or elder. Yes, I would like some changes, for example removing op items, but also trash items to make more equal game, but not here, not in rng world.
While I'm not angry like you, Snorkle_uk, I find the level of power creep this expansion somewhat disgusting. Between the new belt base and elder/shaper mods, GGG kind of made obsolete most items already in the game (specially uniques like Bringer of the Rain).

Power creep is somewhat inevitable, and a tool if used correctly but this is truly absurd. There is no real need for this amount of power, specially because it lacks a drawback like some of the old, powerful items. One the sugar high dissapears only regret will remain.

Whoever is responsible for this should be ashamed.

waay too powerful items, no matter if only selected few have them, they are a few orders of magnitude better than existing ones. this game starts to look more like d3 each day :(

also unrelated, but for some reason i love the word "snorkle". sounds really cute!
