Will GGG sell out?

I've heard some rumors that larger companies are interested in buying GGG.

Do you think they will sell out? It'd be a pretty sad day if they did, 99% guarantee the game would just get worse if someone else was running it.
I hear lots of rumors too. everyone does ;p
Let's just hope not :3
But i dont think they will sell it (Unless they maybe get offer a ridiculous some of money ofc :P) they have put alot of work in it so it has alot of emotional value for them to.
Gl & HF may the rng gods be with you.
GGG has made it clear that they care about this game. I don't think they'll sell unless they encounter a sufficiently tough situation, and even with the OB troubles taken into account, they've been doing quite well, at least from my point of view.
you have to understand, everything is for sale at the right prices. Sure GGG is the pride and dream of a group of passionate people trying to make the best game they can, but in the face of a Billion dollar cheque, they will be moved :)
my bet is yes
I would hope this is entirely baseless speculation. While I may have some issues with the game, selling out would almost definitely kill it and any potential I still see in it.
I would be willing to bet larger companies have been interested in buying GGG for quite some time now.

And I would also bet if the offer were high enough, GGG would take it.

And to complete the hatrick, I would bet the offer will never be high enough.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.
I would like to buy GGG.

I've got like .6 BTC, wonder if that's enough.

Boy I sure hope GGG doesn't take out the passive skill tree change all the monsters to teddy bears, reskin all the characters as pink unicorns, change all the attack animations to hugs and rename the game "My Little Pony Wraeclast Adventures".

Seriously worry about stuff like this when it happens not before. The thing is even if someone wanted to buy the company because they thought the game was going to do well as an investment:

1. They are only going to offer so much money and there's not a lot of incentive to offer more than it's worth on paper, it's not Diablo or something most consumers recognize. It has to make financial sense to buy it. I just don't see anyone shelling out the cash to make the GGG people go "Hmmmm yeah that's more money than we were ever going to make with it, we'll take it". The game just doesn't have that kind of "star power". PoE is very niche, it only appeals to a certain mindset, and it has no real franchise name recognition.

2. The whole point of investing in something like this would be to buy the goodwill of the company. If you "take over" too aggressively you'd ruin your investment. Sure it could happen but someone smart enough to see the profit potential would hopefully be familiar with the PC gaming industry to the point they'd realize the consumer appeal of the developer, which leads to:

3. The most likely buyers would be people with a big pile of money and nuanced knowledge of the industry. There's not a lot of people who have both and most of the people who would fit this profile probably offer competing games.
