Will GGG sell out?

Jay Wilson left Diablo III because he is trying to buy GGG with the AH money, just to destroy PoE.

He got many nightmares since PoE started and he wants them to end!

Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.
and everyone is a faqin business expert all of the sudden.
It is NOT always a bad thing if a company gets acquired by a bigger one. I have no problem with a few changes if the developers can still realize most of what they envisioned for the game AND have enough money to live, well and get more money to invest in Servers/Programmers/Whatever.

Riot Games was acquiered too(http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2379503,00.asp) but, the only thing that changed was championprizes, the company itself stayed the same and the numbers speeak for themselves. Who knows, maybe somehing like this might happen to GGG, and if it does im happy for them. I wont stop playing if either happens.
The Bestiary league proved once and for all, that GGG only listens to crying instead of well thought out criticism.
It won't be entirely bad, depends on the contract they sign and how it reflects their goal about gaming.

If they offer em a fat check and let them remain as passionate as they are now with no limitations and stuff like that, how is that a bad thing? Sorta like donation, eh? Now i ain't into that type of thing to know how this stuff works but i would guess it doesn't work like that. Nevertheless if the fatness of the check is fat enough, they will probably take it and who would blame em? The guy that blamed em wouldn't do the same? That whole scene is business after all and business is all about money, emotion an feelings are left behind. Sucks but it's kinda true, no?

Me personally i dislike the monetary system very much and believe it's flawed but not many people think like me...

I would be VERY surprised if they did that. You can tell they put so much love and passion into the game design. They do not appear to be a company that would ever prioritize money over their art. And hopefully they won't need to financially. As long as everyone who enjoys this game buys something eventually.

I don't care at all about cosmetic stuff in games really which is why I love how this game is not pay to win. Diablo 3 was pay to win and I never bought anything beyond the initial purchase.

In this game I've already thrown down $20 despite not even having a level 30 character yet...

Everyone just needs to give a little money to them if you can afford it. They will be fine I think this is a great and supportive player base.

I do like the little green froggy I have now :) but my purchase was not for what they are selling. It was for what they are providing for free.
And after reading through this whole thread I just have to add that selling out to a major company is BAD.

I actually was working at my last job on a gaming project for a franchise that grossed over 1 billion. And the things I saw were absolutely horrible. They have the exact opposite approach to what GGG is doing.

After that experience I decided to try to pick up programming from scratch and make my own android game with some friends rather than attempt to kiss ass my way to the top in a nasty company like that.

Trying to sell out and maximize profits is the exact opposite of quality game design. I've seen it first hand and beleive GGG feels just as strongly if not more so about this issue. They basically declare this philosophy as the first thing you read when you come to this website.
Caring and love for the game ends there when there is cash pile big enough on the table.

Vivendi acquiring Blizzard pretty much killed D3 as a viable concern and turned D3 into the corporate marshmallow game it is now.

Could easily happen to POE if GGG were acquired.

Lol ts said he heard a rumour despite there being nothing at all even remotely mentioned about this on the interweb anywhere. So we are to surmise that the TS has an inside track?

Who knows if they will sell the company all we do know is that there is no rumour and that the TS is trolling.
