Different map types could be utilized to support different playstyles.
Not everyone is into racing to 100. Dungeons/Mazes could be tuned to drop better items, make them slow grinds but reward through drops. There could also be specific drops, challenges and whatnot. Leave open one-path areas for racers, and reward through xp but keep income less. One can cater to all playstyles and keep the vast majority happy. Judge every map on pros and cons and reward according to how the map fits various styles. Otherwise you'll just make one group happier and another sad. This will just cause an everlasting back and forth you can't fix. Cheers Did you try turning it off and on again?

I did quit the league like 10-12 days in. Its too stale, boring and unrewarding. Running through empty maps and fighting bosses for no rewards is just not my definition of fun. |

GGG should just add promimity aggro so that this can go fully the way of dodo world of warcraft.
People play ARPG's to slay tons and tons of monsters. You don't want people to reach 100 super quickly? Then nerf monster XP...don't nerf monster counts. The people in this thread arguing for "new players" is a stupid argument. This is END GAME we are talking about... not the density in act 6. I don't understand why it's always the fucking players fault!!!! "Oh you're just spoiled from legacy league" "Oh you're just a meta slave picking OP skills" "Oh you're just cheesing the game" WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT? This is a game. It is meant to be fun. It's an escape from the real world. This isn't some kind of holy grail of balance. It's a fucking ARPG where you blow up shit as fast as possible. If I like linear maps WHY DOES GGG HAVE TO STEER ME TOWARDS OTHER MAPS? WHY CAN'T WE PLAY WHAT WE ENJOY? Because it's good for the longevity of the game? What the fuck does that even mean? You say that the slowing down was mandatory because X reached Y level fast, which is silly, considering no matter what nerfs they do, the top guys no life-ing the map will still be top. The 1% that finds loopholes will always find loopholes no matter what and will still level fast, but the other 99% will be the ones getting screwed. GGG have to understand that this is not esports and most certainly not a MOBA game, therefore the balance for games such as league of legends/dota 2 does not and SHOULD not be applied here. |

" Quite the contrary. Balance should be applied to PoE too, and actually in a more timely manner. All the broken skills/mechanics/items or interactions should be addressed on a monthly/weekly basis and "loopholes" that are unregulated should get regulated ASAP. That would bring balance and a healthy development to the game. Long term. And it would also place more weight on the diversity, and on builds being, feeling an being played different. Right now you got stack damage, pick opie-op broken @#&* and go demi-god mode, with more or less focus on AFK capability. Much "diversity". Much "balance". Much "WOW". Playing PoE should feel fun, and actual content that put up a fight should be more appreciated, while also feel a lot more rewarding at the same time... And it should at least contend with the goddamn trade or crafting as those don't pose ANY kind of danger. "Balance". Right... PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"... "Different playstyles!" It doesn't work that way. More people like to build STRONGER builds than their league starters. If your league end build is = to your league start build in power then wtf is the point of ever leveling more than one character per league...or that matter more than one character in standard? If everything is balanced, and fun is "controlled" to the extent to which you describe this game will seriously be dead as fuck. That's exactly why GGG releases OP skills every league...they know that if it isn't a least a little bit stronger than builds players are playing currently then nobody would try them. With all of this "game design" mumbo jumbo...people forget the human psychology of wanting to just have fun blowing up monsters. Why does this PvE game have to be so fucking balanced? Is there some million dollar tournament for who can kill shaper the fastest I don't know about? Okay then...shut up and let people have fun. The only competition people have in this game is against their own ego. |
