Yo fuck this density nerf.

"People are enjoying running straight forward linear maps with good density and there is no way we can force them to run backtracking maze-like low density garbage maps... "

GGG: "Hold my beer."
Furthermore this change buffs weaker players, it helps the casuals more than anybody else. High density is inherently harder to play against, there is a lot more going on. If we were to run a list of pros and cons for all the possible options once you decided to slow down the game, I believe this pack size change would be the super clean cut winner. I'm just sad this end up buffing mobility skills even more.

The only thing the nerf will cause is people switching to another map. You can't stop people trying to be efficient. Farming xp is all these guys care about, and they will get it somehow. We are just getting pushed more and more to speed meta, because every other part of the game is simply not worth bothering with. It has nothing to do with wether I understand the nerfs, I simply believe they are lazy nerfs, like pretty much all the other nerfs that happened in 3.0.

How can they swap to another map if they nerfed every linear and open layouts?

How can you say this density nerf was lazy when it is the absolute best possible option?

Now, obviously everyone is always going to run the better layouts, regardless of how hard they try to force us not to. This is a grinding game, the end game is legit, spam maps like a race car back to back to back, you can't really slam maze layouts and not get tired really quickly of that shit. Just putting on a nice linear layout and running through it without a care in the world is clearly the way to go.

They didn't really nerf layouts by the way, they nerfed the entirety of endgame, they knew what they were doing, it would be silly to assume otherwise. They left the maze maps unchanged/slightly buffed so that if you want to run those or have to run those, you get something out of it. Then they nerfed all the maps worth shaping and chaining. Just because it feels slower doesn't mean it shouldn't or that it is bad for the game.

Have to disagree here.

Casuals usually dont even know how to roll good maps.
Which means they are not rolling for pack size and an overall nerf to density means they get less maps/loot drops.
So its a lot harder for them to sustain their map pools and make currency.

Yes the new Harbinger Orbs do help, but its still a nerf overall.
How is that supposed to help out casuals?

And to be honest:
If you cant clear trashmobs regardless of pack size, you shouldnt even be running maps in the first place. How are you supposed to beat a boss, if you cant kill trash?

Dont get it.

Because there will always be a 'best' map.

It's also amusing you think nerfing fun in mapping was the greatest solution. (Yes more density = more fun) The only thing they did is to make it even less rewarding to play a character that is not lightning speed. So furter pushing us into insane clear speed over anything else.

lmao thats right, nerfing the easiest straight forward map you can run to level 100 was a buff to casuals after all.
Can you guys actually understand my point instead of twisting it sideways, of course nerfing the content is going to be a nerf to everyone. I am simply stating that it makes the game easier to play. You guys are extra strong at the not understanding anything. Your argument is that it buffs speed, which I already stated...

The main premise is that slowing the game was mandatory at this point. If you don't agree with that, of course you aren't going to agree with anything else that follows. No need to try and explain why this change in particular was bad, because any other way to do it also have huge downsides, maybe you would rather like to complain about different downsides but it doesn't change anything. This packsize nerf also tone down rampage and flasks, since flasks are/were out of control, it's 2 birds with one stone. As I said, the only problem is that it buffs mobility skills and movement speed. The only regret I have is just that, they should've released this density change along with a mobility skills nerf.

Are you thick? At what point does the current game looks slowed down to you? It's exactly the same as before, just with less density, less nice builds, less overall fun. They didn't make any progress with their silly nerfs but making the game BORING. Meanwhile the level 100 speedrunners aren't affected at all. Keep up the great feedback.

Name calling while being wrong, that's just glorious. Would you agree that speed = distance/time, or in this case progress/time. Now if your xpm is 20% slower because there are less mobs, it's going to take you 20% more TIME per level. That is the very definition of speed.

I leveled to 95 in SSF within first week of launch and I had a blast, I just slammed randomass maps, just because, I shaped wharf, ashen woods, cemetery, coves and colonade, just because I could. It was entirely fine as far as gameplay was concerned. I am not sure where you get this idea that less density is proportionally less fun, because it isn't.

As I said before, this density change only feels big because we are coming out of a year+ of high density leagues, and the races they did before 3.0 were GGG testing unreal density.
