Can't say i can't stand him - that being said,i do not trust him anymore ever since he started posting videos with lead developer e.t.c. at that point your credibility goes straight out the window as there is no way you can remain unbiased.
Not to mention that it feeds the whole streamer thing to a point where a lot of players base their opinions on what a streamer has said,instead of what they have found out them selves. I mean for god's sake,a relic of bygone era like kripp is still being held on a pedestal even tho he is about as relevant as a used condom. And yeah,threads like these feed both the trolls and the streamers. No rest for the wicked.

I get what the OP is saying, to a degree. Its a wierd situation... GGG wants to throw info at us, but sends it flowing through ziggy, who is not employed by GGG last time I checked(and turned down a job so that he can be flexible in what he does). Yet, just by the very nature, its almost as if Ziggy is indeed employed by GGG. They are, again (and by again, I mean they have POE trade for free too), getting a service for free by streaming it through Ziggy and have him as some sort of unofficial community manager. They want to have their cake and eat it too. Can't say I blame them. But it can be...eh, annoying?...to see them skimp out on having an actual in-house built GGG developed trading website/system/etc...and then have them skimp out on a quasi unoffocial community manager/liason in Ziggy without actually paying him (and thus allowing him to maintain his creative freedom). I get it, I understand it, Im almost indfferent to it. But I do understand what the OP is getting at. I personally have nothing against Ziggy, and I think he puts out some great content. I do wish that he would stick to being a streamer, youtube content guy, etc...and not under the proverbial thumb of GGG. I can see, at some point, Ziggy possibly altering content(interviews, etc) to some degree to preserve the image of GGG simply because he is their go-to guy for interviews and announcements. If he had zero attachments to them, he is totally free to do and say what he wants without any unofficial obligations to maintain peaceful relations with them. Example...I am curious when was the last time Ziggy had an ill word about POE, development direction, GGG, etc since becoming the unofficial community liason guy? I.E. are we getting Ziggy's actual and truthful opinion? Or is it filtered through his relationship with GGG? You don't ever trade or group up in PoE? They are completely different as long as you wish to make them out to be. " GGG have their own community managers and PR system. Point is Ziggy is detached from the GGG engine and can ask community-driven questions and push critiques that won't arise internally. Just because he doesn't whinge endlessly about whatever it is evryone is whinging about atm doesn't mean he is compromised in what he presents. THEY DON'T PAY HIM. Sure he isn't going to unnecessarily burn all his bridges for the sake of publicity and being edgy but if GGG took a big dump on poe to cash out or whatever you can be sure he wouldn't accept it joyfully like a warm turd to the face and convince his viewers it was in their best interest while he and Chris skipped off hand in hand on their way to their evil lair on volcano island. |
