No, because not all nations / cultures / systems are equally responsible or can be equally trusted. You can be sure that Israel will never use (their supposed) nuclear weapons in an offensive manner, because they are a democratic nation, but can you be sure of the same for Iranian ayatollah regime or Saudi Arabia wahhabis?
What happens when unstable regimes get overthrown by religious fanatics, like it can happen in Pakistan? The less nuclear countries there are, the less likely nukes will be used.

Now, if only US or only Russia had the bomb, that would be a problem, because a monopolist would extort the whole world (having a monopoly was a major reason why US could afford to drop nukes on Japan). But since it's a handful of powerful countries that are in competition, it is ok. The current situation is a lot more stable than if every ragtag dictator had nukes.

If Obama was different slightly, perhaps a Jewish man, but everything else about him the same, he would not have won the Presidency and would not have won a Nobel Peace Prize.
